We have GOT to get SPENDING under control!!! Period, end of story. Compared to this period last year we have had a $50B increase in revenue and yet the deficits are still too high and growing. Corporate income taxes are down but excise taxes, paid mostly by business and reflective of business activity, are up the same amount so that's a wash. It's spending.
On budget spending is up $20B
Off budget spending is up $31B

    Here's the numbers.

Where do we cut or control future increases and which party is more likely to do so the Republicans or the Democrats.

    Question....

Is it possible for the government to spend money without someone in the non-government earning an income?

    No?

Then is it possible to cut government spending without someone in the non-government having their income cut by an equal amount?

Actually, it's worse. For every dollar of spending cut, $1.4 dollars of income is lost (thanks to the velocity of money).

So what you're saying is that people are earning billions of dollars too much and we should make people poorer?

    Who should we make poorer?

Yes the government can spend money by paying it's own employees.
