    Sandy Shanks said:

As things stand now, the Dow has lost over 575 points, the Nasdaq over 200 points, and the S&P over 65 points.

    Sandy Shanks said:

Today, the Dow is at 25,690. On March 15, the Dow was 25,440. Because of Trump's trade war with China, the market has been treading water for five months.

Here is an update on those figures. Matters are far worse than my earlier report.

The Dow is down 800 points, the Nasdaq is down 242 points, and the S&P is down 86 points. The Dow is currently at 25,480, 40 points higher than it was five months ago.

Naturally, Trump and Trump's Democrat, Peter Navarro, the architect of the trade war with China, are both blaming the Fed, according to the Trump Network, otherwise known as Fox News.

“This is basically the Federal Reserve’s problem,” Navarro said. “They are causing this because when Jay Powell got in this chairman he proceeded to rein in interest rates by at 100 interest points, too far too fast. Even though the Trump economy is rock solid, it slowed us down a bit because of those higher interest rates.”

Trump joined the chorus, tweeting, "The Fed has got to do something! The Fed is the Central Bank of the United States, not the Central Bank of the World."

This, of course, is good for my health. If Trump ever accepted blame for his screwed up policy and apologized, I might have a coronary.

What Trump and his Democrat are saying is meant for his base. They are gullible enough to believe it. No one else will.

Let's take a look at the facts. On August 1, Trump announced a 10% tariff on $300B of Chinese goods that are popular with American consumers, clothing, shoes, computers, cell phones, etc. That precipitated the worst week of the year for the stock market. The following Monday, August 5, Trump's announcement caused the worst day of the year. The Dow plunged 760 points.

On August 12, the Dow lost 391 points, but then on August 13 The US Trade Representative announced a delay of Trump's tariffs on several categories of Chinese-made consumer goods until December 15. Those goods include cell phones, laptop computers, video game consoles, certain toys, computer monitors, and certain items of footwear and clothing, and the Dow shot up more than 400 points.

Tariffs on popular consumer goods cause higher prices. Even Trump admitted that yesterday. Higher prices cause inflation. Inflation causes less demand. Less demand causes unemployment. Tariffs cause recession, Econ 101.

Today, August 15, the stock market set another record. Now it is the worst day of the year. The reason, recession fears. The Times reports, "Trade-war worries hammered financial markets again on Wednesday as data from Germany and China showed trouble for manufacturing-reliant economies, while the bond market renewed fears of an American recession."

But our President thinks the Fed is to blame. The complete lack of comprehension on the part of our current President never ceases to amaze me.

"If anyone had doubts that trade was the thing hanging over the market, today seals it," said Bill Stone, chief investment officer with Avalon Investment & Advisory.

10,000 lies later, you still believe what Trump says? "They are gullible enough to believe it."

    That really is quite remarkable.

And your ilk is gullible enough to believe what other haters tell you. In your case, the gloomier & doomier the 'news' the better you like it.

So far, nothing youve warned us about has happened.

    Nothing.

It wasn't meant to be a good photoshop job. It was meant to put a very real message out there. These photos are not photoshopped and are typical of the enthusastic, positive, peaceful, standing room only crowds he draws everywhere he goes. Obama would have killed to have had this kind of response after inauguration day. Any Democrat running for President now can't draw more than at most a couple of thousand, most a few hundred on their best day, some a dozen or two.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

And his celebration of America and tribute to the military on the 4th of July this year in maybe the bluest city in the country:

There are millions and millions of us who appreciate President Trump and, unless something terrible happens, will vote for him in 2020. Some of us for the second time, and I believe also millions for the first time. And all the butt hurt, whiny, mean spirited, malicious, hateful, dishonest and cruel whining and accusations and recitation of assigned talking points that the left can come up with just strengthens our resolve. No way we want a country run by those who have nothing to offer except for wild unkeepable promises and hate. We like the President's vision and we want him to have all the time he can get to realize it.

Good for you Foxy. I on the other hand refuse to lower my standards and vote for an idiot who has no idea what he's doing. Hopefully the Dems put someone in worth voting for, but that's doubtful. So as of now, I will vote Libertarian as I have the last 2 elections or not vote at all. But I'm happy for you that you have made the bold decision to throw away all conservative and Christian values you once may have had in order to support Trump. I hope he gives you that tingle up your leg that Obama gave the Libs.

You say he doesn't know what he is doing. I say he might be the most competent and knowledgeable President we have had in a long time in his ability to identify and understand what the problem is and then in his instincts and experience in how best to address it. He might indulge in playing politics every once in awhile, but that just isn't in his DNA. He wants to do things, accomplish things, fix things, solve problems and he doesn't give a diddly squat who gets the credit or whether or not it has ever been done that way before.

Yes he is an imperfect person, sometimes vulgar, sometimes petulant, sometimes less than polished, but he in my opinion is perfect for here and now.

I just wish some of the haters could get past their petty partisanship and ideological conditioning to see and appreciate it.

Trump is a dangerous tyrant. He means to end the US a Democratic Republic and establish it as a race based fascist dictatorship

The most laugh out loud part of your post is the bolded section above.

This is how the world identifies the blind devotion of a Trumpservative when they refuse to see and accept what's in front of their face.

He uses a simpleton's words because that's what he is.

I want someone better than that as our President.

But you trumpublicans keep aiming high!

Maybe by 2024 your party can come up with a decent candidate. First they have to focus on something besides hating on Trump, though.

Let's see, Biden will be 82 then and Bernie will be 126 or so. Probably still be Dem frontrunners.

Sometime google how many times Obama used and uses "I, me" in his speeches. During his campaign. During his presidency. And now. It is really REALLY laughable in that he takes credit for everything good, then and now, and blames either George W. Bush or Donald J. Trump for everything that wasn't or isn't good. He rarely gave anybody else credit for anything.

Then listen to President Trump's speeches objectively and without prejudice. He rarely takes credit for anything--the closest to it is saying that "my administration has accomplished. . ." but he mostly gives the credit to the American people. Yes he brags that this or that policy is working, but when you actually accomplish something, you are entitled to some bragging rights.

Even the media had to admit that Obama is the far more narcissistic of the two:

Here's what's ironic... for the past 21 months while the stock market was booming and investors were making lots of money, you never once gave Trump credit. Now, to hear you tell it, he's solely responsible for the current downturn.

Trump haters are such hypocrites. It's no wonder nobody takes them seriously.

What is hypocritical about that? He didn't do a single thing to help the prosperity and as soon as he does do something, he ****s it up, just like we always said and expected

Trumpers lie so much to imitate the Orange Deity that we have NO way of knowing if anything they say is true anyway. Unemployment? Hell we could have armies of hobos on the rails and the Trumpers would be going on about how Don I is now giving everyone vacations

You know, the Trump haters might have more credibility if they were able to come up with something other than the assigned insults and talking points to bash him. Aren't you people capable of just a little bit of creativity?

That's a terrible job of critical reading.

He simply pointed out that Bonespurs has done nothing to help the economy. Didn't you notice that before complaining that he called an incompetent boob and incompetent boob?
