The important thing to remember about these fascists is that they want to create a sense of emergency, the breakdown of society, which in their crazed bird brains they think will cause us to turn to them for leadership. These folks aren't smart. The Left works similarly. The increasingly centralization of power that caused our rights to flow to the State began in Depression, continued through WWII and then the Cold War.

Well, the Depression is over, WWII is over and the Cold War is over, and in order to halt the reversing of this centralization with Freedom and Liberty flowing back to The People, the Left keeps whipping up al lthese Pretend Wars to maintain the centralization of power: War on Women, Race Wars, Climate Catastrophe with Antifa basically trying to take over for the failed Occupy Wall Street farce.

They strike me as rather frantic. They really want a recession, Americans doing well works against their goals. It seems obvious to me that they are failing. They, working with the Deep State and the Fake News Media, really wanted to take out Trump, and that's failing as well.

Well I don't have any use for the Proud Boys either and their philosophy is antithesis to basic conservative/libertarian values and beliefs. But they have as much right to peacefully assemble and demonstrate within the boundaries of the law as does ANTIFA. When either are determined to stop the other from doing so, you have violence.

Unless the Proud Boys have initiated violence and/or civil disobedience, however, and unless they start it, you have to say that it is ANTIFA in the wrong.

Nobody should be denied their right to peacefully assemble no matter who they are. And to blame somebody on the right for provoking violence when they do so, but give those on the left a complete pass, is just insane.

 

It's real simple Antifa hold you own rally and show us how civil and reasoned you can be and are your opinions. Proud Boys continue to try and hold your own. Both of you leave each other alone to express you views.

The Democratic Party of the South especially post reconstruction was conservative in that they fought to conserve the power of the ruling Whites and the KKK, state's rights, and Jim Crow were their tools.

 

There is nothing wild about exposing Trump supporters to the facts of history. Go and read some good history history and you will learn about Communist infeltration into unions, Hollywood, the state department , the Civil Rights movement etc. Therecwas a good Senator sho got a bum rap who warned us bout Communist infiltration in Hollywood and universities and even in the state department. There were Soviet Russian infiltration in FDR's administration.

What is of interest -- vital interest -- is why they change, and what does the direction of change say about where things are going.

My first experience of suppressing free speech -- totally mild by today's standards -- is when the John Birch Society disrupted a meeting of the Houston Socialist Forum in 1964, held at the Jewish Community Center, which had a panel of Leftists, including a CPUSA fellow -- the only one in Texas at that time I think, although now CP members there are Democratic Party precinct chairman (the example is an old friend of mine). They were in the audience and suddenly all stood up, marched up to the front of the room and unfurled a banner saying "Communists Kill Americans in Vietnam".

The police were called and actually arrested their ringleader. In court, his defense lawyer stood up, said one sentence -- "Extremism in the Defense of Liberty is no Vice" -- Barry Goldwater's signature slogan that year -- , sat down -- and his client was acquitted.

Of course, in those days, smearing liberals as Communist or 'ComSymps' or 'Communist Dupes' (a friend of mine actually had badges made up with that slogan) was a standard conservative tactic, at least for the conservatives I had the pleasure of living among. (So I'm slightly cynical about conservative claims to be for free speech but I believe their recent experiences have made them appreciate how vital it is for a free people, and even if it's a mask in some cases, masks have a tendency to grow into the face.)

Now it's "white supremacist" which is the smear term, used absolutely casually for anyone they don't like. I know that in many cases it's just dishonest people saying it, but I am also sure that a lot of them are sincere, just as many conservatives sixty years ago genuinely believed that if you supported school desegregation you had to be Red or a dupe of the Reds, because, look, right here in the Daily Worker, the Commies did too! Now that logic has been transferred to the way a lot of the Left like to 'reason'.

I don't see this ending well. We came back from McCarthyism, but the basic culture was affected by that bacillus. This time seems to be different.
