Trump's approval rating has plummeted in key battleground states. The reasons should be obvious.

    Link

There's lots of time for Trump to make this worse. His lying and other assorted craziness will only get worse in the next 15 months. He can't help himself.

It has less to do with "lying and other assorted craziness", as you put it, than it does with what is becoming an increasingly obvious pandering to Wall Street, Doug.... His bone-headed opposition to increasing interest rates at a time when the economy needs the balancing effect of normalized interest rates coupled with a healthy economy and record-low unemployment is, of course, music to Wall Street's ears, but only stimulates irresponsible levels of unsupportable borrowing while it further CRUSHES all who try to save money for "a rainy day" and for their retirement!

He's slowly but surely making himself the enemy of Boomers who have finally built up some savings after being devastated during the Great Recession -- only to see microscopic interest rates, while all attention, action, and consideration is lavished on stock market gamblers! It appears that Trump would like to see everybody in staggering levels of debt (again), with interest rates at zero-percent, and everybody flushed out into 'wonderful, wacky world' of the stock markets!

A lot of us got completely exhausted with that 'fraud-balloon' nonsense during the Great Recession, but now Trump's declared war on even a modest Federal Funds Rate moving toward 3% (it NEEDS to be at least 4% - 5%).

Boomers are not blind to this, and there's 70,000,000 of us -- notorious for being avid, consistent VOTERS.... BTW, there hasn't been a decent increase in the Social Security cost-of-living in TEN YEARS! Boomers are not blind to that, either.... :unclesam:

But, in your professed self ignorance, do you know why this information is more valid than most??

Because it's the same polling service asking the same questions over a period of time...... I believe they call that in the biz, a trend...

I fully believe this BS.... I don't know what it will lead to in true battleground states like Florida, Iowa and Arizona, but you guys can likely waive buh bye to Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania in 2020.... which is most likely the ballgame...

The only good news from this poll is that Trump isn't actually at his all time disapproval, so somebody doesn't think he sucks as bad now as he did at some previous time... yay!

I love discussing polls. Are these phone surveys? Who answers unidentified calls and has time for surveys? Do you?

I hear your frustration and agree with your view on interest rates, but disagree with you in one area. If interest rates are allowed to climb again, it will slow the economy as well as increase our interest payments on record levels of debt. Trump is trying to recover lost earnings via poor trade deals and I don’t believe we can do both, play hardball on trade and increase rates. Obama enjoyed a nearly zero interest rate for his entire two terms to help stimulate the economy. I want to give Trump a chance to make better deals with a strong US economy. I do agree though we should be striving for a 5-7 percent rate.

Im sure he does. I place importance on the methodology. Do you answer unidentified calls? Do you have time for phone surveys?

Trump says polls are important and meaningful. So you must parrot that position.

Out of the two of us, you are the only one quoting Trump. Personally, I do not put any weight on Trumps words. Im sure he appreciates your support.

Let the Trumpers keep dismissing polls and looking to 2016.

    This gets better 24/7/365.

These polls are irrelevant, until the DNC fixes its primaries and decides whose turn it its, none of this matters. Once an actual nominee appears then we will see how Trump fares. Looking at the DNC circus, whichever clown wins is just the first loser in 2020...

These polls are relevant because the Dem primaries are fixed and fair.

None of the GOP yelling matters at all.

These are actual candidates, and Trump does not fare well against them.

You mean it could get worse?? OMG.... I didn't think of that...

But you do realize Trump's approval ratings have nothing to do with this primary process, correct??

Not likely. This happens all the time, generic hopeful looks good on paper, but then that hopeful turns out to be a dud when all the smoke clears. Add in the DNC's propensity to fix primaries, the dismal array of clowns/candidates and this is probably the brightest moment liberals can hope for, its all down hill from here...

Actually the president's approval/disapproval does have things to do with primaries. This is particularly true around this time, when crazy socialists and other liberal frauds are making promises like reparations and free stuff. They see this potential, and agree with it, but by election time when the craziest of the clowns is gone the reality that those promises will not be fulfilled will give Trump a boost. Don't take my word for it, just watch for yourself next spring and early summer...

That's explained in the head to head sample votes, which I mostly ignore (although it does crack me up to see Der Glorious Leader losing by 8 points to America's New Mayor)....

But I won't ignore state-level presidential approval numbers, which have VERY little to do with the primary process..

But both you and he will ignore them, which is completely fine by me...

Again, at the moment there are plenty of people that are independent/swing vote types and they are currently seeing all options, even the most ludicrous, and some of those things appeal. That tends to shape their overall opinion, but when it all shakes loose, it comes down to two candidates, Trump v DNC clown, and Trump wins. You forget the Democrat House has accomplished absolutely nothing, there is nasty infighting within the DNC as well, you folks should focus on keeping the House and focus less on irrelevant and inaccurate polls that still haven't fixed their broken methodology that claimed Hillary would win...
