Why are illegal aliens released into the interior of the US?

    This is something that I've never understood. Why can't they be deported ASAP? Ben Shapiro talked in his podcast today about aliens receiving a "provisional green card" who then "overstay" the green card and become "permanent illegal residents of the US." Why do they get any sort of green card?

    Federal courts are ordering it.

    It all comes down to interpretation of the law. It probably has to do with asylum law, but other migrants are misusing it and taking advantage of it. Democrats in the House of Representatives don't want to close the loophole.

    Are you saying that once someone is released into the interior, in every case they have not yet been determined to have a genuine asylum claim?

    I don't know what releasing them into the interior has to do with asylum law in the case of someone who doesn't have a legitimate asylum claim.

    Because it takes time to formally determine whether someone has a legitimate asylum claim or not. That process currently takes far too long for various reasons but it’s never going to be instant. Much like any other suspected criminal pending conclusion of their case, the options are indefinite detention (which is expensive and restrictive on the potentially innocent) or some form of conditional release (which raises practical issues with security and how they support themselves). Neither is perfect and neither is going to be the best option for every single case.

    Maybe Ben Shapiro lied to you? It isn’t that difficult to seek out primary information about this kind of thing. There doesn’t seem to be any such thing as a "provisional green card" but there is a “conditional green card”. If you really want to know, you could spend a little time reading up on it rather than relying on what other people tell you, especially other people with obvious commercial and political biases. :cool:

    Because the govt. doesn't want to house them and this is a way for companies to get employees.Companies like the Koch Brothers chicken processing plants...

    Temporary work permits are something most countries issue... and no they aren't released into the interior of the US. What moron is making that claim?

    they are not illegals while awaiting a response from the government on their Asylum request

    they are waiting on the government with their Asylum Processing

    Pretty much all undocumented immigrants claim asylum, that's the problem. You really need to read up on some very basic information about the topic if you're going to discuss it, and not just from one-sided partisan sources.
