The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee opened an investigation as to why an Air National Guard crew stopped at President Trump’s Turnberry resort in Scotland while traveling to Kuwait.

The probe, first opened in April, focuses on the unusual stopover the crew on the C-17 military transport plane made on both legs of the trip to deliver supplies, several people familiar with the incident told Politico. But the panel has yet to receive any answers from the Defense Department.

“The Defense Department has not produced a single document in this investigation,” said a senior Democratic aide on the oversight panel. “The committee will be forced to consider alternative steps if the Pentagon does not begin complying voluntarily in the coming days.”

To put this in a nutshell. Air Force C17s leaving Alaska bound for Kuwait stopped in Scotland to refuel. The military has spent $11 million on fuel at the Prestwick Airport, the closest airport to Trump Scottish resort Turnberry which he purchased in 2014. The military C17s could have refueled in England at our US military base where they usually refuel when flying to Kuwait, and the fuel would have been a lot cheaper.

A few years ago, the private Prestwick Airport in Scotland was debt-ridden and the Scottish government bought it in 2013 for £L = one pound. It has continued to lose money in the years since. The Turnberry Resort lost $4.5 million in 2017 but revenue went up $3 million in 2018. Needless to say, the small airport is essentially for business at the Turnberry Resort.

The Pentagon is not cooperating with Congress.

    Nothing to see here, nope-nope....

Military spending accounts for 54% of the U.S. federal discretionary spending so naturally Trump saw that as a great big piggy bank to pillage. It's disgusting what he's been getting away with and it's only getting worse.

The airport is at least 20 miles from the Dirty Donald property so our air force personnel have to ride past a lot of much cheaper hotels and restaurants and pay far more transportation costs before reaching his hotel. There is a lot more to this than meets the eye.
