Is Trump doing exactly what Putin wants him to do? That is a very good question considering the fact that the White House has been shackled during the 2 1/2 years Trump has sat in the Oval Office. Despite his party having control of both the House and Senate for the first two years of his Presidency, Trump has accomplished little or nothing.

He is the least popular President in modern American history, his staff has an historical turnover rate and is now filled with sycophants, and there are even questions about his mental stability.

Trump's close ties with Netanyahu while unilaterally proclaiming Jerusalem the capital of Israel has removed the U.S. from Middle East talks because the Arab republics do not trust him. Neither do Great Britain or France because Trump is unpredictable and unreliable. The U.S. has been replaced by Russia.

Trump removed the U.S. from the Paris Accord to which there are 197 signatories. Under Trump, the U.S. joins with the major emitters led by Russia.

Because it was signed during the Obama administration, Trump removed the U.S. from the JCPOA which permanently barred Iran from making a nuke. He has been urging the Iranian leaders to agree to talks for a new agreement that permanently bars Iran from making a nuke. In the meantime, Iran has followed Trump's example and is in violation of the JCPOA. Our allies are trying desperately to save the agreement. Trump is opposing our allies' intentions.

Trump has removed the U.S. from lucrative trade agreements, TPP, NAFTA, and has not signed one major trade agreement in 2 1/2 years.

Much to Putin's delight, Trump has weakened NATO with his constant jabs at our NATO partners. The recent G-7 conference went nearly as bad as last year's G-7 conference and there was no common statement of cooperation.

Trump has threaten the vibrant American economy. Because of his trade war with China, even he is concerned about a possible recession as consumer confidence is dropping along with the manufacturing index. Trump's harsh tariffs cause inflation, and inflation causes recession. To illustrate all of this, the stock market has been treading water since January 2018. On Jan. 29, 2018, the Dow stood at 26,439. Right now the Dow is at 26,798. It has been below Jan. 2018 figure for most of August due to Trump's tweets.

Questions about Trump's mental acuity have surfaced recently. Last Sunday, using a five day old NWS in predicting Dorian's path Trump declared that Alabama "will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated." On Saturday everyone not named Trump knew Dorian was going to turn north, missing Alabama by hundreds of miles. For a solid week Trump insisted that his faulty weather forecast was accurate.

When that died out, on Saturday Trump said he cancelled a Sunday meeting at Camp David with the Taliban leaders and the Afghan president. Since the Taliban declined to meet and the Afghan president followed suit, serious doubts emerged that any such meeting was scheduled for Sunday, although the headline seeking Trump wanted such a meeting.

Is Trump doing exactly what Putin wants him to do? The reader can decide.

Kinda sounds like Trump accomplished a lot compared to Obama.

All Obama accomplished in his first 2 1/2 years in office was ???

    Cash for Clunkers and Obamacare.

Washington (CNN)In a previously undisclosed secret mission in 2017, the United States successfully extracted from Russia one of its highest-level covert sources inside the Russian government, multiple Trump administration officials with direct knowledge told CNN.

A person directly involved in the discussions said that the removal of the Russian was driven, in part, by concerns that President Donald Trump and his administration repeatedly mishandled classified intelligence and could contribute to exposing the covert source as a spy.

The decision to carry out the extraction occurred soon after a May 2017 meeting in the Oval Office in which Trump discussed highly classified intelligence with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and then-Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak. The intelligence, concerning ISIS in Syria, had been provided by Israel.

The disclosure to the Russians by the President, though not about the Russian spy specifically, prompted intelligence officials to renew earlier discussions about the potential risk of exposure, according to the source directly involved in the matter.
At the time, then-CIA Director Mike Pompeo told other senior Trump administration officials that too much information was coming out regarding the covert source, known as an asset. An extraction, or "exfiltration" as such an operation is referred to by intelligence officials, is an extraordinary remedy when US intelligence believes an asset is in immediate danger.

At Helsinki in July 2018, Trump, in a stunning rebuke of the US intelligence community, declined to endorse the US government's assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election, saying he doesn't "see any reason why" Russia would be responsible.

"I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today," Trump said.

A person directly involved in the discussions said that the removal of the Russian was driven, in part, by concerns that President Donald Trump and his administration repeatedly mishandled classified intelligence and could contribute to exposing the covert source as a spy.

A US official told CNBC on Friday that a photo of an Iranian launchpad that President Donald Trump tweeted out came from an intelligence briefing Trump received earlier in the day. https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-tweeted-classified-intelligence-briefing-photo-2019-8

Here's the photo Trump attached to the tweet:

In a tweet on Saturday, Trump revealed a highly secretive meeting that would have taken place on Sunday at Camp David involving himself, the Taliban leaders, and the Afghan President. Trump even said it was a secret. "Unbeknownst to almost everyone, the major Taliban leaders and, separately, the President of Afghanistan, were going to secretly meet with me at Camp David on Sunday."

I think it is fascinating when a Trump fan says something outrageous and doesn't explain the reasons for his statement. It must be because the statement is totally outrageous and he can't.

BTW, in view of what I said about your hero, what an absolutely pathetic response.

In view of what I have reported about your hero, that is a pathetic response.

Two worthless posts from the Trumpets, neither of which makes any sense, is all we get. There is no attempt to defend Trump.

No doubt, even Trumpets believe what I reported is reality along with the conclusions reached.

Question: Why do Trumpets support a man who is doing the bidding of the communist dictator of Russia?

    Answer: They don't know.

In opposition to his own advisors, his vice president, and Congressional leaders of his own party, Trump admitted that inviting terrorists who had harbored Al Qaeda to Camp David a few days before the anniversary of 9/11 was his idea and his idea alone.

"We had a meeting scheduled. It was my idea and it was my idea to terminate it. I didn't even discuss it with anyone else," Trump said on the White House lawn where he usually holds his news conferences.

Apparently, Trump's NSA, John Bolton, was vehemently opposed to Trump's screwy idea to bring terrorists to Camp David. Trump fired him today. It is not a coincidence that Trump disclosed this secret meeting on Saturday, and, by Monday, Bolton is gone. Discretion is not one of Bolton's long suits.

It isn't the first time prominent members of Trump's foreign policy team have quit or been fired. It has become a rather common occurrence, actually.

Rex Tillerson was trying to forge an agreement whereby the Korean Peninsula would be freed of nuclear weapons. Trump told him he was wasting his time. Tillerson became the shortest lived secstate in the history of the U.S.

The DNI, Dan Coats, was fired because he didn't always provide intelligence Trump liked.

Mike Flynn lasted less than a month as Trump's NSA. He is now a convicted felon facing jail time for lying to the FBI.

Flynn was replaced by General H.R. McMaster. He didn't last long, and Bolton replaced him.

General John Kelly quit as Trump's chief of staff in December 2018.

General James Mattis resigned in December in protest because Trump foolishly wanted to withdraw American troops from Syria, leaving the ground to Russia. American troops are still in Syria.

Trump fired Kirstjen Nielson, DHS secretary.

Patrick Shanahan didn't even get a chance to serve. Trump nominated him to replace Mattis, then pulled the plug on his nomination.

So, working for Trump in the areas of foreign policy or our national security can create problems in terms of one's employment longevity.

As a candidate for President, Trump had no foreign policy experience and no military experience.

    Putin loves it.

If Putin had planted a Russian agent in the Oval Office, he couldn't be doing any better than Trump. It is interesting that Trump's fans agree with my analysis. They are totally silent.

Like that saying in football, Trump is what Putin expected him to be. That doesn't mean he's a Russian agent or is doing Vlad's bidding. It means the reason Putin backed Trump is because there was every reason to think the Idiot-in-Chief would be the bungling, incompetent, nitwit he has proven to be. It's to Russia's advantage to have Don in the WH watching TV and tweeting nonsense.

I totally agree with you with two caveats.

Prior to becoming President, Trump showed no inclination to be cozy with Putin and Russia. Many are convinced that Putin is extorting Trump. He has something on Trump, money laundering, illegal business deals. I don't know, but something. Many think that is why Trump doesn't want his tax returns revealed. The answer may lie there.

The other issue, Trump knows Putin helped him get elected. He won't admit it, but that hardly matters. Because Putin helped him, to a certain degree, Trump may feel he has to return the favor. Perhaps, he is thankful Putin helped him. That seems logical to assume.

The fact remains, as this thread shows, Trump is doing many things that make Putin happy. If anyone doubts that, review the OP and tell me different.

Let's not forget that Trump refused to instigate sanctions that Congress approved against Russians involved in hacking the election.

That Trump REMOVED sanctions against Russian oligarch OVD

And that Trump is with holding military aid promised to Ukraine to fight the Russian incursion there

Until I could stand it no longer I was listening to Trump's speech today on Fox News. Some call it a news conference because reporters are present and on rare occasions they actually get to ask a softball question.

Typically, a reporter allowed by Trump asks an innocuous question allowed by Trump, and Trump launches himself into a litany of lies, leaping from one subject to the next.

It is almost psychotic as he distorts one issue after another. Hence my inability to listen to him as he drones on.

Here is what is interesting. As is illustrated by this thread, from time to time I have been known to initiate threads critical of Trump. For the most part his fans are unable to defend Trump. Therein lies the interesting part. Even Trump's supporters are smart enough not to use statements made by Trump to defend Trump.

    As of
August 12, Trump has made over 12,000 lies. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...as-made-false-or-misleading-claims-over-days/

Americans can't trust a damn thing he says, and even his supporters know this.

Recent polls show that Trump's approval among Republicans is between 84% and 88%. https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/09/trump-republican-voter-support-approval-ratings/

This begs a question. Where the hell are they? On this thread I have been absolutely merciless in defaming the Republican hero. Not one Trump supporter has stepped forward to defend their man. How strange is that?

Perhaps it is an educational issue. According to a recent ABC/WSJ poll, among white non-college men Trump's approval rating is 67% vs. Democrats, 22%. In all other categories involving men, women, and college Trump is behind the Democrats, especially among college educated women. In the latter category, Democrats lead Trump 63% to 30%. However, among non-college-educated white women, a group Trump carried by 27 points in 2016 exit polls, he is now trailing.

    https://beta.washingtonpost.com/pol...rt-poorly-educated-they-might-be-turning-him/

Trump is losing America’s suburbs, and his base of support is rural. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/meet-the-press/trump-losing-ground-america-s-suburbs-n1041296

Maybe that explains it. In any case, Trump's fans are giving me a free ride.

I guess you haven't heard that the CIA has specifically denied this. Pointing out that the extraction was considered long before Trump was elected president.

Just how bright is President Trump? The reader can be the judge.

Trump repeatedly condemned Bolton's suggestion (more than a year ago) that the U.S. pursue the "Libya model" for the denuclearization of North Korea.

Trump had no idea what Bolton was talking about. The Libyan deal as a model for North Korea’s own denuclearization was first mentioned by Trump’s national security adviser, John R. Bolton, and then by Vice President Mike Pence. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/16/world/asia/north-korea-libya-model.html

Then after revealing he had no idea what Bolton was referring to, the President then sided with the enemy. "What a disaster using that to make a deal with North Korea," Trump said. "I don't blame Kim Jong-un. ... He wanted nothing to do with John Bolton."

In-freaking-credible!!! Any other President who had a National Security Advisor who was disliked by the communist dictator of North Korea would have lauded the guy. Maybe even given him a raise. What does Trump do? He fires him. Kim and Trump have exchanged love letters.

But we all know why Trump fired Bolton and it has nothing to do with the Libyan model, North Korea, or Kim. Trump wanted to invite terrorists partly responsible for 9/11 days before the anniversary to Camp David to meet with him personally. Bolton knew what it was -- another photo op to glorify Trump and grab some headlines. Bolton wasn't alone. Several Republican lawmakers considered it a horrible idea and not one supported Trump's scheme.

Trump revealed his idea for the photo op late Saturday. By Monday morning Bolton was gone.

Trump couldn't fire the members of Congress, but he sure could fire Bolton.

This thread was started days ago. This is your first appearance. This is your first response to one of my threads in a month or more.

As for your other post, the Patriot missiles sent to Poland were approved by Obama. https://www.armscontrol.org/act/2009-10/obama-shifts-gears-missile-defense

Russian soldiers went where they were not supposed to go. That had nothing to do with Trump.

"The Trump administration is slow-walking $250 million in military assistance to Ukraine, annoying lawmakers and advocates who argue the funding is critical to keeping Russia at bay." https://www.politico.com/story/2019/08/28/trump-ukraine-military-aid-russia-1689531

Nice try. I commend your effort, but you need to find a new hero.
