No. The AR-15 is a semi-automatic rifle, not an automatic rifle.

If little involvement means not agreeing with new laws that will not stop criminals but only punish the law abiding then you will see little involvement.

Yeah, you left-wingers would love the government to know who has the guns. No thank you.

Even the left's favorite country to the North abolished their gun registry...

Those rulings mean diddly squat. They are opinions of people who have biases.

If the founding fathers wanted the 2A to be limited, then they would have fricking said so in the 2A, but they didn't.

Stop repeating your ad nauseam BS!

    where the hell is this?

Gun shops would have a hard time with that particular law.

If you know that the person you are buying it for is prohibited.

Well-regulated doesn't mean government regulated. It means well-functioning or working in proper order.

How is licensing and registration going to prohibit someone from committing a crime?

Our constitutional rights are not "granted". They are natural rights.

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights is NOT a document by the government telling its citizens what we can do.

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights is a document of the people, by the people, for the people, telling government want it can NOT do.

    Try to keep up.

At least in my area there is nothing illegal about purchasing the van used to kill more people than any mass shooting in US history, pay in cash, have it towed to your property, and hoon it around the farm.

That is true, but not responsive to the question at hand
No one has ever proposed a magic bullet solution

Using your logic.... lets consider the death penalty
Has the death penalty stopped murder.... no
Ok, since the DP has not stopped murder.... is it equally pointless as you say gun regulation is?

For that matter, incarceration has not stopped crime.... therefore we should get rid of prisons? Laws against bank robbery have not stopped people from robbing bunks.... another pointless law.

I hate being right all the time. I told everyone and anyone not to vote for that dishonest prick Obama but many did, twice no less. And 100% of everyone that did, now regrets it, won't admit it, but we know, we know.

The OP proposed regulating guns like we do cars, I pointed out that this would be categorically ineffective as anyone with nefarious intent is just going to avoid licensing by having it for "home use only".

As is legal with cars under their current licensing regime.

If he wants a lot of exceptions to what he stated in the OP I am most willing to listen.

^ The first quote selected from your previous post is what we were talking about. Cars kill a hell of a lot of people, and they're not even designed for it or normally put to that use on purpose.

How? The majority of mass shooters bought their guns legally from gun dealers involving background checks. They aren't going to be stopped by a background check on steroids. Heck, the Orlando shooter had a security guard license that allowed him to carry a gun as a security guard--this takes about a week of training, as well as a mental health evaluation and a very rigorous background check.

The other thing is that I don't need a license or registration for a car that I don't drive on public streets.

Fires work even better (Japan July 2019, 33 killed). (also, you ignore trucks (86 dead in Nice)).

Well, because of the details. For example, in the Universal Background Check law that is going through the House, it would require me to get a background check for my father-in-law or first cousin if I wanted to let my father-in-law or first cousin shoot one of my guns. I can live with the general idea of a universal background check (I think it's unconstitutional, but we have a lot of unconstitutional laws being enforced, IMHO), but some of the details of these laws are designed to harass lawful gun owners. Also, define mental illness? Should my bulimic niece not be allowed to own guns ever? She's not a danger to anybody. How about the neighborhood kid with ADD who's on medication for it so he can sit still in a classroom? Again, no diagnosis of danger to anyone. Should he be banned from guns for life?

Life is not as simple and straightforward as you make it out to be. Don't infringe on my liberties because of your paranoia.
