Steppie tried to nail her last night and again to no avail. She won't admit that to have the government take over our healthcare and give "free" healthcare to every she will have to raise taxes on the middle class. She wants to offer a chicken in every pot but not tell you how much that pot is going to cost you over and over and over.

    Here is the key exchange:

George Stephanopoulos: “Senator Warren, let me take that to you, particularly on what Senator Biden was saying there about health care. he's praised Bernie Sanders about being candid, says that Senator Sanders has been candid about the fact that middle class taxes are going to go up and most of private insurance is going to be eliminated. Will you make that same admission?”

    Elizabeth Warren: [dodge]

Stephanopoulos: “Direct question. You said middle class families are going to pay less. will middle class taxes go up to pail for pay for the program? I know you believe the deductibles and premiums go down.”

    Warren: [dodge]

Have you considered that the total cost of medical coverage for the middle class might be lower in a single-payer system?

In what possible scenario can that happen? I have one, rationed care. Less tests, less covered drugs, less access. Maybe you are right, total costs may just go down after all.

What scenario? The change of the monthly premium to a private insurance company changing into a tax.to the government.

Insurance companies underwrite for a 2% profit. Expenses will not go down in fact with the red tape attached to ANY government program the expenses will go up. That is practically a given. Can you imagine having a problem getting to see a specialist and calling a government union employee for help. Like they would have any incentive whatsoever to help you. Good luck with that.
That 2% profit savings goes flying out the window. So expect the tax to be more than current premiums. Just like Obamacare doubled and tripled premiums what would a single payer do? And don't tell me premiums did not double or triple under Obamacare that is a fact. You can call it something beside a premium, like a "tax" if you want, doesn't change the fact it has to be paid for. And at least now you can choose to not participate, another choice the democrats will remove from your freedoms.

If you or any of your loved ones needed a serious heart operation, would you run to any country with a single payer system to get that done or would you rather use a doctor or hospital right here in the good old US of A? How about Cuba, Fat ass Moore tells us just how great that system is.

With less choice with fewer options and have you considered how government runs anything? Have you considered how much your taxes will go up to fund it and when those government inefficiencies and fraud kick in how much they will have to raise those taxes in order to fund it? Did you not listen to Biden last night? Warrens pure conjecture and speculation about cost and savings. Did Obamacare lower everyone's healthcare cost $2500?

But who reaps the savings? The corporations which no longer pay for insurance for their workers. Instead the cost is borne by the taxpayers! Win-win, for the 1%.

Biden doesn't seem to think that Blacks are capable parents.

BIDEN: Well, they have to deal with the — look, there’s institutional segregation in this country. And from the time I got involved, I started dealing with that. Red-lining banks, making sure that we are in a position where — look, you talk about education. I propose that what we take is those very poor schools, the Title I schools, triple the amount of money we spend from 15 to $45 billion a year. Give every single teacher a raise, the equal raise to getting out — the $60,000 level.

Number two, make sure that we bring in to help the teachers deal with the problems that come from home. The problems that come from home, we need — we have one school psychologist for every 1,500 kids in America today. It’s crazy.

The teachers are — I’m married to a teacher. My deceased wife is a teacher. They have every problem coming to them. We have — make sure that every single child does, in fact, have 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds go to school. School. Not daycare. School. We bring social workers in to homes and parents to help them deal with how to raise their children.

It’s not want they don’t want to help. They don’t — they don’t know quite what to do. Play the radio, make sure the television — excuse me, make sure you have the record player on at night, the — the — make sure that kids hear words. A kid coming from a very poor school — a very poor background will hear 4 million words fewer spoken by the time they get there.

After a huge portion of the economy suffers job loss plus medical care rationing to pay for the savings

Maybe she should admit she will raise taxes on the middle class to the tune of HUNDREDS of billions.

You know what? Fine just keep your private insurance. You deserve it. I'll be on Medicaid. And we will each have the system we want. :)

This is why none of them will do well in the General. We've heard all this worn out crap before. Big government programs are expensive, incompetent and corrupt. They mainly benefit the government workers that administrate them.

In Illinois, dead people not only can vote, but can get free medical care

Four point six million dollars on Medicaid for dead people? Illinois clearly is the pioneer in the not yet existent deceased rights movement, which I hear is having trouble with turnout for its rallies.

An audit by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services' Office of Inspector General, or OIG, found Illinois spent $4.6 million on Medicaid coverage for dead people.

From October 2015 to September 2017, Illinois made 84 insurance payments for 80 deceased individuals that the state did not recover, according to OIG's audit. The state now owes the federal government $3.2 million – the portion of the $4.6 million Illinois received from the federal health department.

Apparently voters will vote for a candidate with one set of goals for a primary election and a different set during presidential election. It happens all the time. Completely baffling.

Because the question is asked at the behest of the industry which spends hundreds of millions of policyholder premiums on advertising instead of paying providers that money. Every single network is a shrill for the healthcare industry just like they were a shrill for the tobacco industry when the feds tried to get cigarette advertising off TV.

If you don't pay premiums you pay taxes.

What they have to frame it in a premium is a tax a dollar paid to an insurance company is the same as a dollar paid to the IRS.

It is asked at the behest of we citizens who will have to pay those taxes she does not want to admit will have to be imposed. Her statements that we will pay less in taxes than in premiums is unsupported conjecture. Remember the claims Obamacare would lower all our medical cost by $2500 when it fact it was just the opposite and more?

Reality. Every single first world nation that has single payer has better care and pays a fraction of what we do.

Care is rationed in our current system.

No other first world nation with single payer has less tests, drugs or access. In fact, they have more.

no I don't recall any claims of 2500 savings from the bill that was passed after the healthcare lobbyists got thru with the original proposal,

And I equate the question on taxes to the "are you still beating your wife" People dont hear no more premiums/copays and deductibles all they hear is taxes, You can't let the other side frame the argument
