    Why I'd be happy to.

The VPC, which is one of the most virulently anti-gun organizations in existence, tried to do a study to show how few people are shot in a DGU.

What they came up with was 336k instances of self defense with a firearm in regards to violent crime/property crime.

In other words, the gun control people came up with 336k defensive uses, so that was as low as they could get it.

Page 8, if you have a short attention span.

Maybe you don't remember because you weren't there. What the hell is "admin"? Not a military designation.

It most certainly is and as the most popular rifle in America, it easily passes the Court's "Common Use" test.

You think: “shall not be infringed” means “maybe you could have a duck gun. If your doctor, your wife, and three of your neighbors agree?”

Similarly, the Democrats thought when they started the Civil War that it would be a cake walk.

    Really.

Explain what the "self protective behaviors" are here for me. Give me a hand.

That's over 67k DGU's per year. From the VPC.

    Oh I have read it.

    Now let's try math.

Which number is larger, 67k or 32k.

One of those is the defensive gun usage the VPC says happens every year, the other is the total of all homicide and suicide by firearm.

You presume to threaten US Citizens with the US Military? Suddenly you are all for the domestic use of US military to achieve some of the Left's political goals of suppressing our Civil Rights? Good to know.

And you presume that the US military is going to attack US citizens in order to effect a lawless usurpation of our Constitutional Rights? Do you know any military service members?

Minus AIT at Knox ... provided it's M60 class armor, it's the same.

Yeah, so little has changed since Rhett Butler shrewdly evaluated the Democrats' chances in a war against the Republicans:

All we've got is cotton and slaves, and arrogance."

Well they don't have the cotton anymore.

Have you realized you responded to yourself yet.

    What was I wrong about?

I simply repeated what the VPC said.

Your original premise was the platform was designed for maximum kill rate of humans. That is false. The platform is designed to overcome logistical problems compounded by American military doctrine. It has been an overachiever in that respect but an underachiever in the kill rate department.

And it really doesn’t matter what it’s original purpose was does it? It is used for hunting. It is used for personal protection. And many other things. Someday it may be used to oppose tyranny in this country. Who knows.

But your drill sergeant was wrong.

The idea is arrived from Machiavelli and the English Glorious Revolution, that in a Republic free men ought to have means for the common defence.

It would be kind of hypocritical for a new Republic in this tradition to install new Princes to replace King George, so they enumerated a right to keep arms along with other rights.

It's very difficult to secure an article V amendment (12 states can veto any change) so it has remained.

Go down the list of states that might have something to say about this...

    Alaska
    Vermont
    Arizona
    Tennessee
    Texas
    Georgia
    Flordia
    Oklahoma
    Alabama
    Arkansas
    Louisiana
    Wyoming
    Idaho
    Kansas
    New Hampshire
    Montana

It's not hard to find a veto.

Remember our Revolution was based in part on British efforts to disarm us.
