Add another to the endless string of scandalous, illegal acts by this admin. There have been so many it's impossible to keep track of them.

Mystery of Adam Schiff and whistleblower takes dangerous new turn
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...chiff-whistleblower-takes-dangerous-new-turn/

"The latest development: The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) has informed Schiff, the California Democrat and chairman of the Intelligence Committee, that he will not forward a whistleblower’s complaint to the committee, as required by law."
    ....................................................................................................................
To clarify..........A whistle blower must first submit a complaint to the IG, who determines whether it’s a credible, urgent concern. If the IG does determine this, the DNI is required by law to forward the complaint to the congressional intelligence committees. The ODNI has refused to comply with the law and a subpoena issued by Schiff for the information.

We have yet to learn to exact nature of the complaint.

"Schiff sounded an alarm last week after acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire intervened to block Congress from receiving the contents of the still-secret whistleblower complaint. Maguire, according to Schiff, diverted it to the Justice Department and told the committee he would refuse to share it because it involved someone outside the intelligence community and might involve matters of confidentiality and privilege."

Sounds like it involves someone in the executive branch.

Sounds like it couldinvolve almost anyone in the country not in the Justice department.

??????? Since it involves supposed matters of "confidentiality and privilege" how do you figure that?

Because people have privileges and a right to confidentially.

Moreover the law only requires it to be turned over if it deals with folks from the intel community.

Another Hail Mary from the desperate dems

Privileges and confidentially are one of those things that are unique to a free society.

Apparently the IG found the complaint to have no merit, get over it.

That is the opposite of the truth. Imagine my surprise that you believe it.

"This all started when Schiff announced that the Inspector General at the ODNI had alerted him to a whistleblower’s complaint that had been submitted to him. Schiff noted that the IG assessed the complaint as “credible.”

Do you ever get embarrassed by having to make ridiculous statements to cover for your previous ridiculous comments?

What part of the factual story do you dispute?

The law only requires the name be released to the Intel Committee, if it involves the intel community....it doesn't. Therefore, nothing is required to be turned over...and more importantly, it's important the the private individuals involved have their rights, and privacy protected as well...in particular from the Dems in Congress, who have proven time and time again, they will abuse their power, and attempt to destroy lives

What’s more, Taylor argued, the statute does not give the DNI the authority to decide that something doesn’t count as an urgent concern, once the inspector general has designated it as such.

“The inspector general makes the decision as to whether it’s an urgent concern or not,” Taylor said. “Under the statute as written, the Director of National Intelligence doesn’t have the discretion to not act or get a second opinion. He just has to forward it to the intelligence committees.”

I encourage everyone to read this whole article.

"The first ground the DNI asserted—that the complaint concerns conduct by someone outside the intelligence community—does not seem to justify withholding the complaint, so long as the complaint is related to “the funding, administration, or operation of an intelligence activity within the responsibility and authority” of the DNI."

DNI pegged the refusal to comply with the subpoena on a need to stay in line with the “established confidentiality interests of the Executive Branch” and on “confidential and potentially privileged matters relating to the interests of other stakeholders within the Executive Branch.

It isn't anything you couldn't have found on your own to prevent yourself from making that ridiculous assertion. Regrettably, it is the MO of all Trumpists to hold unsubstantiated beliefs even when factual information in contradiction to their beliefs is readily available.

You just can't help yourself, can you? MO of all Trumpists. When people exaggerate, I tend to disbelieve about everything they say.

It is now being reported the complaint is about the President and involves a communication with a foreign leader—more specifically a “promise” made to a foreign leader.

So the urgent concern about our national security is a “promise” made to a foreign leader by the President. Alrighty then.

Trump’s communications with foreign leader are part of whistleblower complaint that spurred standoff between spy chief and Congress, former officials say
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...651aa2-da60-11e9-bfb1-849887369476_story.html

"The whistleblower complaint that has triggered a tense showdown between the U.S. intelligence community and Congress involves President Trump’s communications with a foreign leader, according to two former U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

Trump’s interaction with the foreign leader included a “promise” that was regarded as so troubling that it prompted an official in the U.S. intelligence community to file a formal whistleblower complaint with the inspector general for the intelligence community, said the former officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly."
    ..........................................................................................................
Now we know why acting DNI Joseph Maquire has stonewalled House Intel Committee Chairman Schiff's request for information about the whistleblower complaint. This despite being legally required to do so and despite the info being subpoenaed by Schiff.

I'm sure they are looking thru the books for a way to prevent giving the info to congress.

Seeing as Maguire consulted the DOJ before stonewalling Schiff's request for info.................I smell the influence of a rat named Billy the Bagman. The AG the Liar-in-Chief chose to be his personal protector.
