Republicans control the Senate; Democrats control the House. The "Gang of Eight" consists of the Senate and House leadership of both Parties, plus the Committee Chairperson and Ranking Minority Member of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees.

    Sandy Shanks said:
Acting Director of National Intelligence Maguire has refused to share the whistleblower complaint with Congress as required by law, and the White House Office of Legal Counsel has been involved in efforts to keep it from Congress.

    Time
reports, "Trump told reporters that the July 25 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was “congratulatory” and focused on corruption in the East European nation. In his remarks to reporters, he then raised Biden as an example, although there is no evidence of wrongdoing by Biden or his son Hunter, who was on the board of a Ukrainian gas company."

Then Trump made a serious mistake. Once again, his big mouth and monstrous ego caused him to be his own worst enemy. He just had to tell reporters he was responsible for withholding evidence of a felony from Congress.

Politico writes, “We’ll make a determination about how to release it, releasing it, saying what we said,” the president told reporters in Houston. “It was an absolutely perfect conversation. The problem is, when you’re speaking to foreign leaders, you don’t want foreign leaders to feel that they shouldn’t be speaking openly and good. … You want them to be able to express themselves without knowing that not every single word is going to be going out and going out all over the world.”

Of course, Trump realizes this is a unique situation. The President of the United States once again asked a foreign power to interfere in our Presidential election on his behalf, and he withheld military aid to Ukraine to provide an inducement.

Ordinarily, Trump gets someone else to do his dirty work, and there is no tape, no documentation of his involvement. This time he blabbed, and he did so to the American people.

Trump used the power of his office to tell the acting DNI to break the law, and he just admitted it. "We’ll make a determination about how to release it."

Of course, we all know there is no "we" about it. He will decide whether or not to release it.

Essentially, Trump told the American people he broke the law.

The law states that if the I.G. determines that a whistleblower complaint is credible and urgent, the DNI must report it to the House intell committee within seven days.

If the complaint meets that standard, the inspector general is to forward it to the director of national intelligence. The law says that within seven days of receiving the complaint, the director in turn shall forward the material to the House and Senate intelligence oversight committees.

You're right. Never mind the Mueller report. We knew Obama and Hillary conspired with Russia to broadcast unsubstantiated dirt on Trump. But that was nothing compared to what we now know --- Obama and Biden conspired with Ukraine to launch the Manafort investigation and used USAid as leverage. Hard to believe that the current scandal was the first time Biden and Obama shook down the Ukraine government.

OK...then had Barr to the whistleblower, IG and DNI attendance list. He can confirm this "international criminal investigation," under oath and Rudy's role in it.

Democrats have alot of reason to change the news cycle with the IG report on Russian collusion coming out. Some believe that the Dems saw the Mueller witch hunt as a success that gave them back the House and think they can grab more seats with this latest distortion of fact. Who knows ,,, don't know if anyone still watches the fake news now.

Rudy has no role in it...it’s lead by the AG in Ukraine. Rudy is just a private citizen here in the USA. Biden and his son apparently have a role

Mitch, the Mueller Report came out AFTER the 2018 election. And, what IG report on "Russian collusion" are you referring to?

I was a business owner. I know what would have happened if I took off for 4 years and let my business run itself. My observation is that Trump is playing Democrats. I'm sure if he ever opened his books, it would show that he calculated the cost of each guest and charges no more and no less than cost to guests from foreign governments. He's waiting to embarrass haters if they can ever get a judge to see emolument violations their way.

If Trump was money hungry, he would pocket his Presidential salary. Instead, he's donating his salary to things he feels the government under-funds. Why would a greedy, money hungry capitalist donate $400K per year?

Ukraine already finished their investigation back in May. Found nothing on this company. Offered to share their findings and evidence to US investigators. If there is an investigation it's by Rudy and frankly he really needs to be put out of the spotlight and somewhere where close friends and family visit him and nod their heads a lot and say comforting things to him. Sadly his legacy isn't going to be his leadership on 9/11 but rather his public descent into dementia.

You've missed his trips to Ukraine and his meetings there. If Trump wants to investigate Biden and/or his son for illegal acts here or abroad, I have no problem with it. All he has to do is pick up the phone and call the intelligence agencies, DoJ and the State Department and launch an investigation. If the leaders of those organizations refuse, they can either resign or he can fire them...and suffer the political response.

Rudy is a private Amercan citizen....he isn't conducting the corruption investigations in Ukraine. The AG of Ukraine has recently offered to share information to our DOJ, about Joe Biden's role....that's about it....the corruptin investigations are still on going

Rudy is a private citizen and can fly anywhere he wants....

That's true, that's all Trump would have to do....

Recently as in early June after completing their investigation in May.
You are making speculations based on thin air.

How much money do you think he puts in his pocket from the fossil fuel industry? You don't think trump would sabotage the planet earth for nothing do you? That's just one example. You ask why would a greedy, money hungry capitalist donate $400K per year. That's less than he probably pulls in in one single day but he sure has a lot of people drinking his kool-aid. (That's my opinion only. I can't support it any more than you can support yours)

While it is dismaying it is not unexpected that Trumpette's have adopted the as yet COMPLETELY UNSUBSTANTIATED CONSPIRACY THEORY promoted by Trump and right wing media that crimes were committed by Biden and his son.
In the parlance of a Trumpette the accusation is a nothingburger yet it reverberates around the right wing echo chamber as if it had credibility.
This is in contrast to the mountain of published evidence of Dons obstruction of a federal investigation provided by Mueller in Vol. II of his report Trumpette's pretend does not exist.

So Joe takes a trip to Ukraine as Vice President, then afterwards his son lands a position to sit on a board is being paid $50K a month by a Ukrainian gas company. This despite the fact he has no experience in the gas industry, and you think it is Trump who is colluding? Only a liberal mind could twist things to that extreme....
By the way, I think this is the end of Joe's chances as a Candidate.......

    True that true.

Because it’s not that big a deal to him. The phone call in question was offer congrats on winning, and to show support for their war against Russia and corruption. Joe’s blackmail came up, and that’s about it

Then maybe Biden shouldn't have bragged about it.
