I agree that there is no mention of Mohammed in the Bible. Therefore, Islam is not an Abrahamic religion. You just agreed on that. However, the Messiah is mentioned throughout the Old Testament.

Yahweh is His name. Allah simply means "God". Tell a Muslim that God's name is Yahweh and you might get your head sawed off.

Yhwh is only one of many words used to label the one god. Allah and elohim are variations of the same thing.

Yes. But Yahweh is his name as the God of Israel. Another reason why Islam isn't an Abrahamic religion. Jews and Christians agree that Yahweh is his name.

There's no mention of Jesus in the Old Testament. NONE. He wasn't an anointed king or a warrior and he didn't defeat Israel's enemies.

Allah is God in Arabic.. Like Dios and Gott in Spanish and German.. Even Arab Christians say Allah.. You do know that there are different languages all over the world.

As "the one god" and the supreme god, there was supposed to be no name. Technically speaking Yhwh isn't a name. It means the one or the supreme god.

No, Yahweh is significant. It means the God of Israel. It's personal. It's His name, not title.

No, you just weren't supposed to say his name. Christians and Jews have names for God. Muslims don't. The Muslim god isn't the same god as the Jewish and Christian God. The Muslim god is the god of this world, Satan. Yahweh is Lord. Christians believe Yahweh is Jesus Christ.

Look into the linguistic end of this as it relates to the languages in the region before the Hebrew bible. Yhwh, eloiha, and allah come from the same word variously translated as the lord, the one, or the god.

So we should punish women because men will look at them with lust. Maybe we should require men to wear blinders

    Overview
    [IMG]
Yahweh was the national god of the Iron Age kingdoms of Israel (Samaria) and Judah. His exact origins are disputed, although they reach back to the early Iron Age and even the Late Bronze: his name may have begun as an epithet of El, head of the Bronze Age Canaanite pantheon, but the earliest plausible mentions of Yahweh are in Egyptian texts that refer to a similar-sounding place name associated with the Shasu nomads of the southern Transjordan.

Some scholars believe that Yahweh was originally thought to be one of the seventy sons of El, who later killed his siblings and displaced his father El at the head of the Isra…

Didn't the Jews ad Christians have the same God. Because you just said God of Israel. That would be a ridiculous way to call the one and only God.

Dec 12, 2013 · “The name of the son of god, Yahweh.” This text seems to show that Yahweh was known at Ugarit, though not as the Lord but as one of the many sons of El. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahweh#cite_ref-45. In the earliest stage Yahweh was one of the seventy children of El, each of whom was the patron deity of one of the seventy nations.

Jews and Muslims agree on don't eat pork. Does that throw Christians out of Abraham's covenant?

Allah means "God". Yahweh means "The God of Israel". Allah is not the God of Israel.

You think its the head of hair that men are aroused by? Instead of making this problem one for women to solve, lets make men figure out how to control urges.

I never said that Allah was the god of Israel. I said that those labels are variations of the same word, having gone from culture to culture over time. In essence, what you're saying is that "god means god and god means the god of Israel."

You know, I would apply the precept about food and drink to dress as well. " It is not what goes into the body that defiles a man/women.... it is what comes out of the heart."
