Looks like Erdogan was itching for some easy and small war and now he got it.

Lets just hope this won’t spread further.

Donald Trump, with divine wisdom, composes a tweet for Turkeyland
    www.smh.com.au/world/middle-east/donald-trump...

1 day ago The genesis of Donald Trump's recent tweet, as revealed by a leading White House whistleblower. Donald Trump, with divine wisdom, composes a tweet for Turkeyland .

    Excerpt:

Don: “Exactly. I have divine wisdom.”

Mel: “That might be the teensiest bit lavish, dear. The snake handlers and the tongue talkers might feel you're getting above yourself. What is it your message to the world?”

Don: “I wanna say that the Turks can do whatever they want, but I need to give the impression that if they embarrass me by doing what we know they'll do, they’re toast.”

Mel: “But isn’t that almost the same thing? The Kurds were our friends only 10 minutes ago and now they’re going to be put to the sword. That could be a little bit embarrassing.”

At this point in time I would have to agree.

Well this whole thing stinks, Turkey was obviously already mobilized before the call to Trump. He just allowed thousands to be killed, people that helped us against ISIS, the man is a disgrace.

Do you think Trump knows that more than 3 million Syrian refugees are in Syria?

The bad guy in this scenario is Bashar Assad.

Fighting between various groups that has been going on for hundreds of years. USA should never have been in Middle East. Moved our 50 soldiers out. Turkey MUST take over captured ISIS fighters that Europe refused to have returned. The stupid endless wars, for us, are ending!

    I agree well done Trump.

He used the Kurds to defeat ISIS. Now he's betrayed them. You think that's "well done?" You know how you negotiate with people who are known to betray their friends? You don't. Stupid morally. Stupid in Realpolitik terms. Just plain dumb.

The Kurds are a large group spread across numerous countries in the region.

The Peshmerga Kurds are our allies-and we still support them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peshmerga

The PKK (Turkish Kurds, communist terrorists) are not our allies-even if we both were fighting ISIS there.

Put your boot bands on and go join up to fight against Turkey.

Maybe he should go over there and help Erdogan sort them all out? He could stay at his hotel in Istanbul. He wasn't so particular when the Kurds were defeating ISIS. As Mitch McConnell said yesterday, this helps only the Russians, Iran and Syria.

And...how does someone who pretends to be a "US Conservative" support an urban, big government, protectionist, who has never balanced a budget in his life? You've made a Faustian bargain...for a tax cut and deregulation.

Why should we help Ergodan? The Turks are at war with the PKK, we are not.

At the height of the Syrian civil war, there were dozens of factions fighting in country-just because they happened to be there too does not mean we owe them a thing.

And the PKK is already mortaring towns in Turkey today I hear.

The PKK are communist terrorists, so not exactly a group I care to help in any way.

I didn't hear Trump complaining when they were carrying the burden of wiping out ISIS.

When ISIS reestablishes in Syria, the Kurds will be saying that to the USA.

They were one of several groups fighting ISIS.

The lack of background knowledge on the Kurds here is unfortunate.

There are plenty of Kurds in Turkey-but the PKK is a terrorist group. They are the ones being hunted, just as they are hunted in Turkey.

ISIS moved into Syria from Iraq, taking advantage of Syrias civil war.

    Assad won.

They can do want they want in Turkey. We don't have to facilitate genocide in Syria. You seem to have no problem with "betrayal."

The Syrian army has collapsed, that is why Russia is there.

Its not a genocide. Its targeting one specific party of militant terrorist kurds.

The PKK is not our ally to betray.

The Syrian military nearly collapsed during the war. Russia helped prop them up with air support and materials.

    Its back now.

We'll see, won't we? Question: Are you a supporter of the Assad regime?

I don't think "we" will. Like I said most people have no idea about the Kurds (they just associate them with being an ally, which the PKK is not).

"We" will forget about this in a few weeks, and move on to the next fake outrage courtesy of the media.
