Why are tax payers stuck with paying for campaign rally's

The Mayor of Minneapolis wanted the Dirty Donald campaign to PRE PAY for his campaign rally trip to that city tonight,thus far they have refused.This will put Minneapolis in the same position as other cities which have had campaign rally's and have been stuck with huge bills for overtime for the necessary police protection.The Mayor raises the question of why taxpayers are stuck with ANY CHARGES for campaign rally's which are NOT OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT BUSINESS.Why are taxpayers stuck with the transportation and ppoluce protection and anything else for what should be campaign expenses.Both Ireland and Scotland both complained about the BILLIONS in police protection costs that Dirty Donald and Pence's visits cost their tax payers.Both of those were visits to TRUMP properties,not government business.

My estimate including the overhead for the police puts that at around ten thousand hours or around nine hundred twelve hour man days. That does not even subtract out the tax revenue the city gets by having all those visitors in town.

Did you add in hire of venue, cleaning, traffic disruption etc

 

with the arrests that just happened, looks like Trump's financial support may be coming from overseas

 

It's campaign activity and should not warrant expending any taxpayer money on it.He is not there on behalf of America he's there on his own behalf,and his campaign should pay the ENTIRE tab.

I figure that if there's police protection required, then they could have always refused to allow him to campaign there. Just admit that it's so dangerous in Minneapolis that a simple political rally is going to require paying police even more to make sure there aren't any problems.

The only problem with this is that it's an admission that Minneapolis has a crime problem. If it was an antique show, there would be no need to pay civil servants even more to do their job. It would just be an antique show, and that's the end of that. People would come and look at antiques, and they'd leave.

If it was some black dude deciding to move into a white aryan brotherhood type of neighborhood, would it be okay to charge that black dude more in taxes because of the danger that the people in his neighborhood pose? Cops would have to be even more vigilant, they'd be required to maintain some blue brotherhood type of wall to keep their residents from burning crosses on this black guy's lawn...

or maybe... just maybe... this nonsense of charging people to visit a particular place because it's so violent is an admission that it's a shithole?
