That's an interesting question. The emoluments cause suggests he/she cannot, which is why previous presidents sold off or put in blind trust any financial interest, investment, or real estate. As President of the United States, you surrender most of your private life. That's a high payment but the rewards are manifest. Which brings us to today.

Evidence has compounded that Trump violated the emoluments clause, among other laws in dealing with a foreign power. With little doubt Trump sought to tie U.S. aid to Ukraine to an investigation of Democrats and Joe Biden and his son. That kind of information satisfies the emoluments' definition of "something of value." Clearly, such information, if in fact it exists, would be "of value" to Trump. This is the crux of the Impeachment investigation.
