I would like to begin this mostly humorous nanoessay with an absolutely serious paragraph about men and Feminism. One of the arguments used by feminists is that Feminism means Gender Equality and anyone who opposes Feminism opposes Gender Equality. If that is so, then calling out Male Bashing is not only every man's duty as a Human who believes in Equality and Dignity for everyone, but also every man's Feminist duty. The vast majority of men support Gender Equality. If that makes them Feminist, then so be it. That does not mean that all of us do not have a legal right and an ethical duty to call out male bashing and support male victims of abuse and discrimination. Even though calling out male bashing offline may be dangerous, all men and any woman who values man can engage in online activism. Please note, that the following discourse about male-bashers relates only to those who engage in Hate Speech -- not those who advocate for women.
    \ end{serious part}

An interesting Twitter thread has lead me to better understanding of male bashers and gave me a reason to respectfully disagree with them. The original message was "not all men... and not all 14th century rats, and yet". The implication is that all men are vile and dangerous like rats which spread Bubonic Plaugue. Of course, the Internet is rife with every variety of stuff offensive toward anyone and everyone. The tweet itself has nothing of significance. The reception to the tweet, however, tells us very much about the state of Western Civilization in 2019. The tweet received over 2,700 likes, and several messages of support: "hey now, rats are smart... I need this on a tee-shirt...". Our Society is so used to male-bashing that no one was outraged. One man tried philosophically explaining that generalizations against birth groups are wrong. He was immediately reminded that "a good man is not offended since he knows it is not about him". The most critical response was "Saying men are a plague does you no favors if feminism is truly about men and women being equal."

Of course we should strongly disagree with the message of male bashing and believe that it should be called out. Nevertheless, it is important to oppose their arguments civilly and respectfully. Male bashers deserve respect for their very senior age. Joe Biden was born in '42. Elizabeth Warren was born in June '49. That makes them septuacenterians -- younger people must respect them.

Many male bashers came to their views via very long lived experiences. Even though many of them look much younger then they really are, commenting on their looks would be very disrespectful.

"Bashing" is a feminine behaviour which is not seen as violent because women are - and have always - been put on a pedistal, handed special protections and privileges.

Shaming a man or destroying his reputation is not seen as bad unless the case is an extreme one where the man commits suicide or something.

I agree 100%. It should have been obvious by anyone with Elementary School Education that blaming, insulting, or demonizing a birth group is Evil. Thus accusing all men of being trash and oppressors is Evil. Unfortunately, by 1970s, Evil was tolerated, by 1990s Evil was accepted, and now Evil is considered virtuous mainly by the Left. I disagree with both Liberals and Conservatives on different issues.

As the OP shows, male bashers do deserve respect. They base their opinions on very long lived experience.

Down with the male bashing feminazis. They should be made to live on an island made up of just women with no male help or influence. Basically sisters doing it for themselves.

Everyone will be happy. It's win win.

I think they did this experiment on a Dutch reality show - Women were put on one island and men on another. The men quickly started dividing the labour and managed to build a nice camp with tents to sleep in, sticks to make fire with and fish to grill on the fire. Meanwhile, the women could not get anywhere because they were arguing and bashing each other. The females were then allowed to visit the male island and were shocked to see the colony they had built.

I am 100% for Equality. But anyone who habitually makes negative generalizations about a birth group (men) should be held in the same regard as Richard Spencer.

A century ago, Racist ideas were widely acceptable. Now, open racists are viewed by Society as Enemies of People. Sexists who make hateful remarks about all men are no better. Hopefully most men and then women will start understanding that Bigotry is Evil.

Very interesting. I would like to see repeats of this experiment and see if the results occurring.

I was trying to search for clips. This was one of the clips I found. I guess it's simular to the T.V. show you watched.

The guy commentating clearly hates women, so mabye he picked bias clips to make the men look better. But I think everyone can the men were clearly doing really well and the women were barley surviving.

It would be interesting to see, if any of these shows have the women group doing better than the men. Does anyone have any clips?

    Hopefully sooner rather then later.

Men must be first to understand that those who make negative generalizations about a birth group are Evil. A century ago it was acceptable to make negative generalizations about minorities. Our Society is no more humane then it was in the previous centuries.

People are stupid ignorant sheep generally and will follow what's socially accepted most the time.

Some of Modern Western Society's values are not Egalitarian. In 2019 it is considered virtuous and acceptable to say "men are trash". Many men admit that they are trash.

In 1919 it was socially acceptable to use the n-word and to demonize minorities.

Yes, it was the exact same show with the exact same concept, but it was the Dutch version of the show. I tried looking for the clips on YouTube, but I could not find them.

Yeah, MGTOW:s are salty misogynists. Nonetheless, it is interesting to see how the same experiment has resulted in the same outcome on, at least, two separate occasions.

Yeah. I doubt it though. :p

It's quite funny that the women were not sharing resources and refusing to work with the men at the beginning. Then at the end they had to be rescued by the men.

Well, if you ever had to do group assignments in a predominantely female group, these are patterns you can relate to. They always wanted to meet up very early in the morning and spent the first hour-or-so trash-talking members of other groups and gossipping about who did what at the party last Saturday. And at presentations, they would use I instead of we, making things difficult for the group.

If you read r/TrollXChromosomes you will find that most of users have suffered centuries of Patriarchal Oppression. The very point of the OP is that many of them did.

No one is denying that women were legally discriminated against in the past and faced institutional hurdles that men did not face. I understand where you are coming from and I understand why you consider this to be a problem that needs to be addressed.

Your problem is that you do not understand me and where I am coming from and that makes it rather annoying to debate you because you just keep pushing me into a corner where you can frame me as an evil person and label me with whatever vicious-label you prefer for the moment.
