He does not mean "staged" as in "fabricated," he means it in the "set up" sense of the definition. As in, multiple individuals worked for weeks to set the stage for that phone call.

You do realize that the trump was engaged in a much broader pressure campaign than a single phone call, right?

    And much earlier...

    SNIP
More than two months before the phone call that launched the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, Ukraine’s newly elected leader was already worried about pressure from the U.S. president to investigate his Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy gathered a small group of advisers on May 7 in Kyiv for a meeting that was supposed to be about his nation’s energy needs. Instead, the group spent most of the three-hour discussion talking about how to navigate the insistence from Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani for a probe and how to avoid becoming entangled in the American elections

May 7th... 2.5 months before the phone call...

I wonder what Zelensky might end up saying about his first 3 months in office once Trump is out of office.....

You mean the ones involved in crafting the dossier during the 2016 election.

    Good.

All foreign aid is conditional on compliance with US requirements to receive aid.

    Duh.

No, we know about it because Democrats leaked it, and trying to stop the investigation into what really happened in 2016.

    MAGA country *bleach squirt*

Trump sought campaign assistance from a foreign government in the form of an investigation against his domestic political rivals while he simultaneously and unilaterally held up hundreds of millions in military aid, a requested meeting, and a restoration of trade rights. He then obstructed justice by trying to hide, lie about, and actively obstruct the investigation by ordering all current and former employees to not cooperate.

Oh Jussie, how quickly they have abandoned you.

Everything they can get their hands on.

Specifically in this case, the existence of the phone call and all things Ukraine.

Until the WB complaint, nobody knew much of anything about Burisma.....other than prior MSM articles pointing to the Biden's corruption that were promptly shushed.

Dude, he was the US Diplomat to Ukraine. Even if he was "not there" on the phone call (even though he was involved at multiple other points during which Trump had launched an entire campaign of pressure against Ukraine), then the real question you should be asking is why didn't Trump want the US AMBASSADOR TO UKRAINE involved in that phone call?

The phone call was made public because a whistleblower launched an official complaint and the Trump appointed ICIG found the complaint credible and urgent and thus was required by law to report the complaint to Congress. And you want to bitch and moan about Democrats in Congress holding Trump accountable? Too ****ing bad.

I don't care. He wasn't on the call and therefore cannot comment on the call or be a witness as to what happened on the call, period. You know this.

So he opened an investigation into a corrupt company and then used his executive privilege.

Knock yourselves out with this argument while I laugh.

The phone call was made public specifically because there was nothing done in that call that would warrant any investigation, period. The biggest issue we have is that Joe Biden used his political position to put money in his sons pocket. Millions of dollars.

From China and from Ukraine. These countries were paying Joe Biden's family because he was VP and they could exert pressure on Biden and gain favor.

This is what should really be investigated.

Sure. It continues to make Democrats look stupid.

Oh you bet. I can't wait. That's always worked out so well for you guys before.

That's why he isn't commenting on the ****ing phone call. We have multiple other witnesses who can testify about the phone call. Instead, he is testifying about the broader shadow campaign to pressure Ukraine into investigating Trump's domestic political opponents.

That is nonsensical especially in light of the fact that the Trump appointed ICIG had ALREADY INVESTIGATED the WB complaint about that phone call and found it both "credible" and "urgent."

You laugh at Trump's abuse of power and illegal behavior.

Meanwhile the impeachment inquiry continues! Enjoy.
