LINK: Support for impeachment slips 4 points from October: poll

Now that more and more details are being let out it doesn't appear that impeachment is going to go the way Dems want it to go. Not surprised in the slightest.

    These polls mean nothing.

Wait until the hearings start and the public actually gets the information straight from the mouths of those testifying, without the bias added when the media gets it.

    Will be interesting to see.

What are some of the new details that you think are changing the narrative for Democrats?

The whole thing has been the revenge of the Mandarins. The mandarins believe they are entitled to run things no matter what those smelly voters think.

With the collapse of RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA, the mandarinate suffered a serious setback, to which they've responded with the Famous Ukrainian Phone Call. If you read the "whistleblower's" complaints you discover that their complaints are being gilded with talk about the "quid pro quo," but they really come down to Trump following his own foreign policy, instead of what the mandarins think is right. No one, not even the "whistleblowers," maintain that Trump ever actually said there was a price for U.S. aid, and will the GOP drills down on them they admit that he said the opposite, that he did NOT want a Quid Pro Quo, he simply wanted the President to run on what he campaigned on, and in fact released the aid with not even that, but with no conditions at all. Aid by the way, first held up and NEVER released, by Obama.

Unfortunately for the mandarins, the disapproval of the bureaucracy isn't sufficient to remove a president from office.

Sharyl Attkisson keeps a running list of major mistakes the press has made reporting on Trump, going back to things like the report that the bust of Martin Luther King, Jr had been removed (it hadn't). Not to mention bad reporting that was so egregious it actually got people fired.

The press is supposed to report freely and so defend democracy. But the press increasingly — and transparently — is pushing falsehoods about Trump.

It doesn't matter if there's a grand conspiracy. Slime molds don't have meetings to decide which way to ooze. The truth is that the political press sees themselves as part of the mandarinate, and are motivated to preserve the mandarins' privileges — like setting foreign policy, the election be damned.

The United States is coming to a decision point: are we actually in charge? Or are we willing to let a class of mandarins, and a Praetorian press, have the final say?

Gerrymandering, electoral fraud, voter disenfranchisement, and numerous other instances show we are not in charge.
    Politicians and big money are.

    My friend,

it won’t be interesting to see - this impeachment spectacle is boring. It is not exciting. It is not sexy.

    You have failed.

It will be worse for your side, when the hearings cease to be a one-sided show trial. Normal Americans enjoying the Trump economy don't care about Ukraine, and have a vague feeling this is all another coup attempt, as your guy's lawyer admitted.

Especially the Deep State coup attempt now being investigated, which was a massive disenfranchisement attempt.

And if "Ukraine" fails, the Dems will pursue Trump's late payment on his VISA credit card in 1994. Now that was a scandal!

AOC said she is bord of impeachment. I agree. The longer it goes the worse it will be for Democrats.

    Investigation is not a coup.
Impeachment takes no power away from the president, it isn’t violent, and doesn’t involve military or police force.
You should really look up the definition of words before you repeat talking points.

Your bias before the evidence is even presented is noted

They will have the evidence or they wont. But what fascinates me is that not jut Poe-left such as yourself who are already professing this a which hunt, you also have congressman and senators already saying they will not vote to impeach even before the evidence is presented. THAT should scare every american.

Wait until the actual evidence is presented. Declaring guilt or innocence before the evidence is presented is disingenuous to the process

They learned this from republicans. This tactic was invented, and perfected by the right. So if you really think what their doing is wrong, make sure you call out the republicans who have done this all thru the 90’s, and then again from 2010-2016.

The whole process is disingenuous to begin with. I doubt that articles of impeachment will ever even make it to the House floor for a vote. If it did and it passed then it must go to the Senate for trial. Trumps attorneys are sure to subpoena Joe and Hunter Biden along with Chris Heinz and Devon Archer to testify. They can tell the truth, lie or plead the 5th, either way Ole Joe's run for President is over.
