    At anytime, anybody, can randomly shoot anyone else in the USA. It is what it is.

    And, at the end of the day the 2nd Amendment will still be intact and there will still be about 400 Million Guns in Circulation.

    Hopefully, they find (and arrest) the perp and all of the injured survive.

    It is one of the many unfortunate parts of having the freedom to own weapons — after seeing what os happening in Hong Kong though it is a freedom I am glad we enjoy.

    I still believe we need to have firearm insurance and registration however.

    Should journalists be registered to express their 1A rights? I'm sure that registering will be handy when confiscation comes. No thanks.

    Apparently, police believe this was the work of 2 shooters, not some lone nut. They think it is gang related.

    New Orleans has one of the very worst murder rates in the U.S.

    It was a misspelling of the word “is”, the letter “o” is directly beside the letter “i” on my keyboard.

    Insurance and registration are the first steps to confiscation. You are not required to insure any of your other rights, or do you propose we carry Miranda insurance? Perhaps Freedom of Assembly insurance in case the you get caught in a peaceful demonstration that turns into a Black mask prog fest replete with chemical/biological weapons like urine bombs and Molotov's? No thanks, if you want infringements on my rights, get an amendment...

    Are insurance and registration the first steps to confiscation of my car? I suppose that makes it more possible. But if I am a reckless or drunk driver, maybe confiscation is a good idea. To some people, owning a car gives them more freedom than owning a gun. You will take my car keys over my dead body.

    The way New Orleans implements gun control is to send police door to door confiscating guns illegally after a major disaster (Katrina) while directing people to report to the Superdome. The lesson to be learned -- don't let liberals take your guns and don't report to a designated "safe" location when so directed by liberal governments.

    First, you don't know if the shooter could own a gun legally. Second, I doubt that any criminal will take out insurance or register.

    You can't have it both ways. Its either a right or you can have laws requiring registration and insurance. Imagine having a government that combines face recognition software and gun registration! Gun owners can be targeted and quietly removed from society.
