Matt Viser: “With Kamala Harris out, the debate stage in December at this point will be all white candidates. Striking for a field that was historically large and historically diverse.” Here’s who has qualified: Biden, Buttigieg, Klobuchar, Sanders, Steyer, and Warren. https://politicalwire.com/2019/12/03/just-six-have-qualified-for-next-debate/ More here... https://twitter.com/CharlesPPierce/...ound.com/?com=view_post&forum=1287&pid=366075 With Harris dropping out, and Castro and Booker essentially out-there will be a stunning lack of diversity in the democrat candidates. Tulsi Gabbard should be able to enter the debate-but the DNC has decided no to allow her to join in. Ironically-the 2015 Republican field was far more diverse than the current crop of democrat candidates.
Is it a good strategy to nominate the best candidate the Democrats have, or does this display their hypocrisy?
What about “too small Deval”? I figured Obama would pull some strings & get him in the mix. Just what America needs... another liberal from Massachusetts, to follow in Dukakis & Kerry”s loser footsteps
His first event only 1 or 2 people showed up. Even if he's not officially out-he is nowhere near the threshold for appearing at the debate.
Yes, Biden is their best candidate because the moderate left knows a senile old man is less dangerous than a progressive liberal. I just saw a clip where Clinton hasn’t totally ruled out throwing her hat in the ring.
Yeah I saw that too. If she were to somehow enter the race, she'd have to catch up very quickly. Bloomberg is trying media saturation, I don't know that Hillary would have the money.
No 'people-of-color'?! Oh, GAWD, the shame of it all! The dreadful lack of 'diversity' and 'inclusiveness'! Surely this reflects a deliberate determination to turn the Democrat Party back into what it was when it was RABIDLY racist, and THE party of segregation! When was that...? Honestly, less than 100 years ago....
Do you know why Gabbard won't be there? Personally, I don't like the criteria for making or not making the debate stage. I don't mind the polling minimums so much, but no one should ever be excluded because of money. That sickens me, especially for a party that considers itself to be inclusive of all Americans. It's hypocritical.
She qualified with donations and polling-which was all she needed. The DNC arbitrarily decided not to recognize the poll-so thats the justification they are using to exclude a person of color. She also had to stop campaigning briefly for military training a few months back. As bad as the media and DNC treats her-they treat Andrew Yang even worse.
The DNC wrote off Yang-the media even gets his name wrong now. Just lots of stuffy white folks from the DNC now.
Are Jews and Asians oppressed minorities? I think they're two demographic groups that have fared very well.
