I was comparing it to Italy in terms of GDP.
And your going to run out of blood and treasure chasing down those that meddle with us as China, Israel, Ukraine and who knows who has as well.
Also, I'm told Chamberlain gets a raw deal. And Churchill too much a pass. It was exactly making all of these NATO like commitments that drew the UK into war with Germany and destroyed their empire.

Oh, and so sad for the 3rd Reich, huh?

I'm just wondering how much blatant criminality Republicans are desiring, and YOU bring up THAT!!

From a logic perspective, why shouldn’t they pay for 100% of their defense?

NATO should die- the LITERAL NATO mission ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Not sure why you believe we need to still be policing nations that can police themselves.

That's no excuse. Because our NATO allies lack worldwide commitments they should be able to support the defense of their territory in Europe far more than they are.

Trump is still pushing our NATO allies to 'pay their fair share', a dem soundbite if I ever heard one.

Have you considered authoring fiction? You do have the knack for it. That's about the nicest response i can muster to such delusions.

You do know that Germany is buying their natural gas from Russia right? Why should we pay to defend Europe from Russia, when Europe is doing business with Russia?

Where in the NATO mission does it state anything about Russia? The NATO mission was to enforce anti-Soviet Union geopolitics and assist other nations. That ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Do we really need to go back and forth on an argument that has been destroyed so many times?

And yes, the nations that keep begging us for military resources (AKA Money) are more than capable of working together without us to deter Russia.

In Russia threatened nukes or something insane like that, obviously we could ally up with them. But your fear mongering involves no massive wars. If Hillary won, then we'd be gearing up for war with Russia but luckily (for all sides), she got destroyed in the election.

"President Donald Trump held official meetings with two foreign leaders and the head of NATO at the alliance summit in London on Tuesday -- and turned the public portion of each of the three sessions into his own highly dishonest impromptu press conference.

"Speaking to reporters for more than two hours in total, Trump made at least 21 false claims. That's our initial count. The total may well grow once we have time to do some deeper fact-checking.

"Embarking on a dishonesty blitz while at a foreign summit would be strange behavior for any other president. For Trump, long impervious to norms of propriety and accuracy, it was just another Tuesday.

"The list of 21 false claims doesn't include some misleading, dubious or questionable claims Trump made about NATO and US foreign relations."

Good news. Hopefully Trump gets us out of NATO before his 2nd term.

The answer in both cases is kriman.

Got a flash for you sparky, Western Europe is already communist and Putin already owns a good size chunk it the rest of it will be handed over gladly by his useful idiots in the UK, Germany and France. A lot of American blood was wasted in WWII and a lot of American money was wasted on NATO.

Yup, Vladimir Putin would love that.

How is the weather in Moscow this time of the year? Pretty cold I bet.

Why would Putin love it so much? Are you claiming Europe can't protect themselves from Russia? They are that incompetent? If that's the case, NATO is the least of their problems.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Europe has the most to gain from a strong defense against Russia. Europe can afford to provide that defense. I like NATO, but Europe is taking advantage of our willingness to defend them. That needs to stop.

Why? Did he tell us anything like the text in red? You even quoted it and had no issue.

and probably send in US troops to help the Russians in their invasion. Those of you who still support this Traitor, need to wake up. He is the Hitler of the 21st Century..

NATO is about pooled resources and mutual defense. Each member is required to spend a small percentage (2% I think) of their GDP on their military. So in a sense, they do pay 100%, but some member countries simply have more money than others.

Be nice to see a list of both figures, if that is even made available.

There are 19 member countries, out of 29, who do NOT cough up their 2% including Germany. It's ridiculously unbalanced.
