It is being questioned what percentage of firearm-related offenses are committed by those who are devoid of criminal records, as opposed to the percentage of firearm-related offenses committed by those who do have criminal records. What is the ratio of non-felons to felons?

No the point was that not all gun crimes are committed by felons with past records. Are you disputing that? Percentage is irrelevant

If one is going to present the argument that it is legal firearm owners who are responsible for the current state of affairs in the united states, that being the number of firearm-related deaths experienced annually, then percentage rates of felons to non-felons is most certainly relevant in order to present an accurate, picture, rather than engaging in simple allusion to trick individuals into believing a specific narrative.

Well then feel free to find the number and prove your point! Or you can read this

    https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/ascii/vfluc.txt

And by the way nobody said the legal firearm owners were solely responsible for all the gun violence in the US. It is clearly a combination of people with illegal firearm and people who brained their guns legally.

I notice you didn't link it, why is that? Oh right, because even a cursory look will show how flawed it is...

Nope, I'm saying murder is a people thing, guns are inanimate objects. Not sure how you can't understand that...

of course guns are inanimate objects. But unfortunately that has no relevance to what was being discussed and so can only be considered a rather inept attempt at diversion.

dems have no issue with owning non-assult weapons like hand guns, it's machine guns and other assault weapons they have issue with

I do not want every cop to carry grenades in their hands walking down the street either, but we were not talking about cops and military

Just as they have issues efforts to keep illegal aliens from entering the united states, or someone claiming there are only two genders.

Machine guns are already highly restricted. There are no other assault type weapons. Semi auto rifles are not assault weapons.

No. There is no legal justification for it. They are not illegal to own, you just have to jump through additional hoops and pay the outrageously high price for one, which was artificially increased due to the regulation.
No they aren’t. They are semi automatic rifles. They are functionally identical to a ruger mini 14.

Ah, so you're not talking about us, the government, you're talking about police officers in particular. Yeah, they have too many guns. Guns kill people, so we should take their guns away.

No it isn’t. The legal definition of assault rifle is fully automatic or select fire. An AR is not an assault rifle. It is functionally identical to a ruger mini 14. The problem is people with no firearms knowledge trying to argue about firearms, and make policy.
