~ I would pick Wes Montgomery. I like his arrangements and the strings in some of his work are very catching. Of course Pat Metheny is one of a kind as well ...

You guys know Ted Greene? If not, you never heard music like this coming out of a guitar.

Wes is elite. Have several of his LPs. The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery is a masterpiece.

Jimi Hendrix is #1. In no particular order after Jimi: Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Tom Morello, Malcolm Young, Carlos Santana, Prince, B.B. King. That's just my list.

That's fair, Hendrix is incredible. I feel like he has a bit of the JFK effect though, I wonder how his career would have gone later in the 70s and 80s.

I feel like once you're talking names like Hendrix, Santana, Van Halen, Page, etc I struggle to pick a fav.

They say he recorded this, eyes closed, never looking up, one take. Wonder if that's true. Lucky enough to see many of his performances, the first time I paid a $2 cover.

His older brother isn't half-bad either. After Steve's death, he quit the band he had helped found, wrote this song to his brother with the help of the Neville brothers, and recorded his first album.

    Brothers...

Love his music. Love Texas Blues in general. His style of playing is so unique and derivative at the same time.

What a career. Yardbirds Page alone is somewhere up there.

A bit of shameless self promotion. This is some recently surfaced footage from 2004 in Lucerne Switzerland. My good friend and boss Anson Funderburgh. A true master of understated Texas blues guitar phrasing. With the great Sammy Myers on vocals (RIP). Yeah, and that is me, Eric Przygocki on bass. This is Really good!
