As I said, Republicans cut taxes WITHOUT any corresponding spending cuts. If they cared about deficits and couldn’t get Democrats on board to agree with spending cuts, they should not have cut taxes.

What they did was irresponsible and reckless. Republicans cannot be the party that cares about deficits because their actions indicate that they DON’T care.

So you don't think that increased employment, consumer spending, parole tax and other tax's has no positive effect on government revenue?

All of that has been on the same unchanging trend line since 2010. Cutting revenues in good economic times while exploding the deficit is total fiscal incompetence.

It’s empirical economic fact. All the data from 2010 to present shows every economic metric has remained on the same unchanging trend line.

It went up every year from 2010 to present. It’s empirical fact every economic metric has remained on the same unchanging trend line since 2010. Thst is reality.

Democrats couldn’t block spending cuts. Republicans could have used reconciliation.

The Republicans supported tax cuts without caring about the effect of those cuts on the deficit.

False but I have no control over whatever your faith based belief system produces. The pattern of Democrats refusing to cut spending started with Reagan and has persisted ever since. The only spending reductions in terms of expansion at lower rates than those automatically built in occurred under Bill Clinton.

If the Republicans cared about the size of the deficit more than they cared about tax cuts, they would have supported tax cuts ONLY if they were accompanied by corresponding spending cuts.

The Democrats would not agree to spending cuts. The tax rate cuts produced strong economic growth and low unemployment with strong wage growth. Democrats were against the tax rate cuts as well.

So the Republicans were able to push tax cuts through, against Democratic opposition, but chose not to push spending cuts through?

Like I have said - Republicans really don’t care about the deficit. They only care about low taxes.

Now stop talking about what the Dems have or haven’t done and try to identify anything Rs have done recently that shows they care about the DEFICIT.

Do your homework and find out just what happened. The reason there were no spending cuts is that the Democrats opposed reduced spending.

I've asked you no less than 4 times now, how me directly refuting your claim, with citation, is in any way a white flag? Please answer that for everyone reading. Budget reconciliation can be used to pass a budget with a simple majority, and to lower spending. I've proven this.

The democrats couldn't stop them from cutting spending. Budget reconciliation. The tax cuts had no measurable effect on any economic metric. Every metric has been on the same unchanging trend line since 2010.

Stop avoiding the question: what have Rs done recently to reduce the deficit? And don’t say reducing tax rates because, in the absence of GREATER spending cuts, reducing tax rates ADDS to the deficit.
