What about the freedom of a child not to get lung cancer or heart disease because a parent smokes in the house and car?
What about the freedom of a child not to suffer abuse from a drunken parent?
What about the freedom of a child not to suffer from accidently shooting themselves or someone else or mommy shooting daddy in self defense or daddy shooting mommy due to domestic abusers being allowed guns?
What about the freedom of people to be in public without smelling smoke?
What about the freedom to not be killed or injured by drunk drivers?
What about the freedom to not be killed in school?
What about the freedom to not get shot up in public?

    Nope taxes are what's important.

Once again, the nanny state swoops in and rescues us from ourselves.

What would we do without Washington, DC?

21 may not be old enough to make smart decisions although, I mean look at Bernie voters, 21 is the new 10.

If democrats take back the senate, I will for the first time identify as african american and not white/nigerian to get my 20K then never identify that way again. Even though I am not related to a single slave.

I listened to them all as a kid from the Chicago Suburbs. Paul Harvey was pretty good too. Wolfman was a legend we had only heard about when he first became popular. I think he either moved to WLS or had a syndicated show there. We never heard of Howard Stern or Don Imus. They were NYC Jocks only. Rush didn't have a show in Chicago either. Not sure why.

agreed, so lets re-institute the draft and force all 18-21 year olds to join the military for a minimum of 6 years

I dont know about anything but for the most part I completely agree.

Military age should be the age requirement for most things in this category.

    I started at 25.

I support a middle way on tobacco policy - no sin taxes, no plain packaging, smoking in establishments up to the business owner.

A very reasonable response, but, the gov't does have SS. Maybe not financially stable, but at least provide some basics.

I never got why people smoked in the first place. Then again, when I was a kid I kinda knew that the money I would put INTO buying cigs was money I WASN'T using to buy music over at Tower Records. Partly the same reason why I never got into alcohol or drugs, although those are different stories. I had different vices, I guess!

Someone has gotta explain why vaping is a thing. I've seen people vaping and - I don't get it.

People switch to vaping to get off cigarettes, I dont get why you can't smoke it indoors, it's just water vapor

You can in our own house. In public, I guess the thought is that any ban is against all tobacco products, not just cigarettes. The small disposable ones that look like cigs are fairly unobtrusive. I have a young relative who had this big ass glass rig he would suck on outside when we all got together for holiday gatherings. I always thought it looked sort like a big crack pipe, as seen on COPS. As a matter of etiquette and courtesy to others these days, I think he knows it would not be acceptable for him to vape indoors where he is a guest. It wouldn't bother me. It looked worse than it probably was and better for him and others than real cigs.
