    Oh dry your eyes already. It's the principle of a honest day wages for a honest days work. It's the principle of capitalism, that companies aren't being aided by a government to help pay the employees in a capitalistic system. Since when aint that good enough?

    Why can't we deduct the amount the government helps Walmart out with foodstamps etc off the profit of Walmart? How much does that CEO earn? Can the company afford that?

    That's totally not relevant. My point is that them managers did a terrible job, yet still got paid their bonuses. You go riddle me that, instead of detracting away. People at the bottom are laid off when they mess up that big at their job.

    Nope. It had to do that they got fired because people at the top were bankrupting massive companies, yet still got their bonuses and were partying through a massive economic crisis they created. And they were able to get all that, because of the government.

    Most money just flows to the people at the top. You are only eyeballing that one. 40% of the US gets paid 15 bucks an hour or less. Western Europeans are laugh at that, while the get full health care, pensionplan etc.

    That line of thinking promotes child labor and human exploitation.

    I know they are paid higher and higher. Point remains, why must it be that incredible high? I already pointed out that the gini factor proves that other western countries got a much healthier wealth distribution. Hence... they don't do food stamps.

    Correct. It is there because the States in existence at that time ratified the US Constitution which created the US government that is in existence today.

    Yes it is. See Article I Section VIII of the Constitution. There is no enumerated power for Congress to implement price controls.

    I'm not searching through links that you didn't even read through for yourself for a "calculation". If you actually read through it, then you should be able to tell me what they said. Otherwise, I'm not wasting my time. I expect my interlocutors to be able to form their own arguments.

    You jumped into a conversation. I already sourced that VISA and McDonald claim you can not live on such a low wage. I'm not going to do it again for you. It's just as easy for you as for me to look back in just 16 pages, use ctrl-F to search for visa, and find the link. It's up to you to do that effort if you want to jump in on a conversation to know what we're talking about.

    Minimum wage is a minimum wage a company is allowed to pay its employees. Raising minimum wage cut jobs and the less people are employed the more people on food stamps and welfare. Your point is moot because raising minimum wage hurts the economy for the most part. Minimum wage does need raised at times but not currently. The market has been raising wages progressively since 2009 and few major companies still pay minimum wage.

    Your point if raising minimum wage to get people off the backs of the governement doesnt work. They become unemployed like the articles states. Hours get cut as well look at bernie sanders campaign when he started paying his employees 15 an hr minimum.

    What do you mean by visa and mcdonalds say no?

    My point aint moot. You could also lower the minimum wage and argue that you can employ so many more people working for desperate low wages in dirty sweatshops. Your argument the minimum wage doesn't need to be raised currently isn't backed up with anything. I backed up that the minimum wage is to low because the government is stepping in to aid companies to underpay those employees. That and VISA and McDonald do not know how you can survive on those low wages.

    There is plenty of money being made in the US. There is no reason why managers at the top can cut costs in their own salaries and have a lower profit returns on investors in order for the US government to stop being needed to help underpay people.

    So you don't know what CEO's actually do and why the owners of the companies pay them so much. And in what country are there fewer poor and those poor live a higher standard of living? And the GINI measures income not wealth.

    It's nit the companies offering these benefits it the left demanding government pay them. And again what makes for an "honest day wages for a honest days work" is that paying someone more than the job is worth?


    Walmart is not getting the help why should they directly pay for it? And yes the CEO EARNS it.


    Perfectly relevant why do you claim all the managers did a lousy job and yes many got bonus for guiding the company through an economic downturn, companies pay top dollar for those who can. I don't think you understand what managers and CEO's do.

    Not all companies who went bankrupt paid bonuses and everyone wasn't partying. More and morenit seems you are just envious of managers and CEO's.

    It produced the highest standard of living for the most people. In my 50 year work history I made a mandated wage for all of 90 days. After that I negotiated my pay and benefits with my employer. Want to be in the lower half then go through life thinking you should rely on government mandating you a higher standard of living.

    It's better to have two adults employed at menial jobs for $15/hr than to have four teenagers employed at $7.50/hr. To hell with the teens. They can play video games and run wild in the streets. And to hell with the business that will be less productive with two workers instead of four.

    One of the reasons they cany is because your not on the board of directors. If you dont like what your getting paid then leave the company. Gain more skills or dont gain any more skills and go work at McDonalds or visa.

    I gave examples where people got their hours cut and some people got let go. Because of minimum wage increases.

    The problem with minimum wage is the same problem with socialism it works great till you run out of other people money.
