I don't disagree but you should not project your own "feelz" onto others.

Although there is no sound it appears to me the clerk is attempting to hand over the cash to the man. So me thinks he probably said something like, "This is a holdup. Gimme all the money". At the least he must have said "gimme the money" or maybe "money" and the clerk was obliging. That also alerted the shooter. I'm hoping the shooter was a law officer who was off-duty. Anyone who brandishes a gun in a public place has now got to expect hot lead to come at them. Sounds fair to me.

But it's not just "gimme all the money". Waving a gun while saying that is actually saying "gimme all the money or I will kill you". That's a threat and it needs to be answered. I don't care if the shooter was an off duty cop or a gang banger himself. He did the right thing. If he was carrying illegally, that's between him and responding police. I hope they are easy on him considering the circumstance. (No charges for the shooting and only address the carrying illegally) If it was in Texas, the guy probably was a civilian with an LTC. The rest of your post, I agree totally.

Another poster mentioned his "posturing" after the shooting. He was looking for the robbers accomplices and wisely so. In the video, the robber walked up with 2 other people who may have been with him. They ran when the shooting started, but you have to protect yourself after shooting the robber for a few seconds to realize your surroundings. Their may be other threats. Then his attention should be on how to safely hand authority over to responding police and EMS. He doesn't want to be the next MWAG in line to be shot.

Though I agree the criminal should be stopped, and even killed....the three seconds between his arriving and his death seems akin to an execution without a trial. The "hero" in this scenario almost seems to have been waiting to kill someone.

Any time you can cull a bad'n out of society it is good for that society.

Somebeach that goes for his gun with bad intent in the presence of the lady behind the counter should be killed.

I'm always waiting to kill someone -- someone who threatens public safety and the peace and dignity of life in the USA. So far, no opportunity.

LOL, the poor perp. Always the stand for the people that do not believe in self protection. People that defend others are dangerous. What a hoot.

But shouldn't you incur risk for everyone in the business and allow the perp to get the first shot off?:roflol:

This wouldn't have anything to do with the hero's color would it? I had to ask, this is PF and a very popular curiosity here!

Exactly why persons who chose not to own a gun, including myself
should pay a tax for not contributing to the public security & safety.

Maybe we should send in our soldiers without guns into the next war zone. There may be civilian men women and children present.

What amazes me is the people condemning/attacking/finding fault with the shooter. Should they ever become the victim of an armed hold-up they might see things differently.

What happened, and guys, correct me if I tell it wrong, is there is a security camera looking down at the cash register and in the frame you can see the entire store plus some what's going on outside. Inside the store there is a customer in a t-shirt and the clerk. On the outside you can see three people walking towards the store but only one guy who's wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled up over his head walks in. In his left hand is a pistol and he walks up to the counter. The guy with the t-shirt is to the left of the frame and only a foot or two away from the would be robber reaches with his right hand for his gun and just as the robber is moving the gun from his left hand to his right hand, the customer with the t-shirt shoots him in the head 3 times from about a foot and a half away. That guy was one cool customer.

Gauging by what the video shows and only what the video shows, I say, as do others, the customer actions were justified. Others in this thread looked for possible scenarios where he was wrong, but I don't think any really strong arguments were made.

I posted this story to see how vast the differences were between the left and right when it comes to guns and self defense, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see there weren't any real hard core leftist types who defend criminals at all costs. I think most of us agreed the customer did the right thing.

The guy who put an end to petty theft by murdering somebody is supposed to be a "hero"?

He didn’t murder anyone, he ended an armed robbery and potential multiple murders.

If you were that guy what would you have done? Hoping that you won’t be a victim doesn’t guarantee your safety.

It was not petty theft. It was armed robbery. if it was only petty theft, the robber most likely would have survived.

The problem in looking at these events after the fact, is you have lots of time to consider alternatives. While the event is taking place, time is measured in milliseconds. When you carry a gun with the threat of using it, don't expect someone to wait around until you kill someone.
