Compassion begins with giving the people the means not to die.

It's not a made up story. Just because you didn't experience it doesn't mean the story is fake. Have you ever seen how aggressive the bums in NYC were when they would wash your windshield without asking and then expect to be paid for it? NYC finally had to outlaw it because of all the incidents.

    now here is a stretch....

what does giving money to homeless have to do with republicans or democrats?? …

kinda lame to use that analogy . but like most trumpeters comments... kinda lame is expected

when person #1 gives money to person #2

the money no longer belongs to person #1

the money now belongs to person #2

person #2 can do whatever they want with that money

a person that does not agree with the above should never give to anyone

If some of the homeless use the money for drugs/alcohol, so be it. That money may buy drugs, but the drug/alcohol seller will spend that same money on other consumables that help support businesses & jobs. What's important is that the money stays in circulation predominantly among the bulk of the populace.

By contrast, the rich act as economic cancerous tumors, creating stagnation in the flow of money...and the more it stagnates, the more power it has to grow and cause further stagnation. They do this by investing & re-investing the greater bulk of their wealth. That's why it's better that the poor & middle classes receive more of the money. They will spend it quickly and keep it in circulation. And is also why free health & free education is important, as it will put more money into their pockets.

I personally believe evil may be a factor but most people don’t believe in the concept so it’s kind of pointless to discuss things from that angle. :)

Definitely social engineering involved, but all social engineering is an avenue to wield power over others.

I know your not joking, and I’m not shocked. Stupidity may be the correct answer. Occam’s Razor may apply here. The stupidity theory certainly has supporting evidence in great supply. :)

I’m not able to go all in with the stupidity theory mainly because of the evidence indicating it’s all well planned out and orchestrated. For example, the state of the US educational system is not the result of bumbling fools. It was a well planned and executed strategy that is now yielding results. Too many coincidences to be believable if we go with the stupidity theory 100% in my opinion.

You can give it to Jimmy Carter directly, but just remind him not to misplace the donation.

Again you avoid answering the question. You aren't pointing out hypocrisy. You are demonstrating it.

I didn't say it was fake, it just sounds fake or exageratted its also a 3rd hand account. You don't know for certain that it happened or your friend didn't just make it up as a reason to not help homeless people

. Like I said, I've never met a homeless who turned down food, much less restaurant food. That just doesn't jive with my experiences at all. Not to mention panhandlers always just move on to the next person when you say no. They don't keep hasseling one person. It just doesn't add up.

Sure that's one thing! But refusing to enforce immigration laws and giving safe harbor to illegals and criminal gangs is a far greater hindrance then not building some wall, thank you Leftism ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

I have read that report before and I would be real careful about labeling that report as fact.

The linked report you provided was widely derided report that was commissioned by the City Council as a self-serving effort to prove that their efforts to reward homelessness have not been an abject failure. This report was condemned by the Portland Police Bureau, citizen activists, and providers of services for the homeless. The Portland Police Bureau had claimed the number of homeless was at least ten times the number reported in the report and they seriously questioned the methodology used to determine the number of homeless. The public pretty much laughed at the conclusion that homelessness was going down when all evidence to the contrary showed that homelessness in Portland was skyrocketing.

The Federal Government arrived at a complete opposite conclusion:

So who is one to believe? Drive through any Portland arterial street and I believe the answer is self-evident.

Dah...one of the biggest factor contributing to illegal immigration ? Climate change. Pelosi and all Dems want aid for countries contributing most to illegals.

Opioids, the biggest cause of opioid dependent use, is prescription drugs. The biggest influx of drugs ? Not in the southern borders but shipped in on all borders at the POEs.

ms13 ? The boogie man. More people are killed by far right lunatics then ms13 in the US.

and Trump is only in his first term, already seeing homelessness where it never was before

many are now choosing to live in their cars and vans, some cities are starting to crack down on this with large fines in the thousands if caught sleeping in a vehicle

some cities have even passed laws to prevent Walmart from letting people stay there at night in the unused parking lot, I used to do this while traveling, but as people are now doing it for a living, the government is cracking down on it, I predict this is gonna start to make the rest areas packed when we travel, truck drivers will have real issues with that

Now you are just fabricating stuff along with throwing around red herrings. Just answer the question. What has Pelosi done to curb MS13 as you claimed?

I'm going to assume you can't see the flaw in your position. When you hand the food itself to the guy, he's never going to do anything but say thank you, because you didn't give him any other options. And he hasn't given you any other options, in asking for money.

Think it through, factor in human nature, and you'll understand why you're getting the response you're getting, and why someone asked for money might get a different response. Anecdotally, when I commuted to a 'colourful' part of the city by train, I encountered addict panhandlers daily. Many become at least a little miffed when cash is refused, and some do become verbally abusive.

The 'means not to die' is creating a society that doesn't discard family, and one which doesn't enabling opting out. It starts and ends with us.

You grasp that nothing you give to someone deep in dissolution is going to save their life, don't you? A person determined to die slowly via dissolution, is going to do it no matter what. You could give them a castle, and it won't help a jot. All you'll do is hasten their demise (they'll sell the castle for drugs).

So when 'the rich' no longer have any reason to make money (since it'll all be taken from them and given to the poor), where will all this circulating money come from? Magical Money Pixies?
