One acre of soybeans, yep. CNN is now discussing the looming cataclysmic famine this will cause.

I'm looking forward to Trump's public address today. Iran "aimed to miss" so they didn't kill any Americans. Trump can deescalate through his deterrence strategy and is due a victory dance. :flagus:

Too bad they shot down a Ukrainian air liner. The official Ukraine twitter has removed the accidental circumstances post. Their actions are unconscionable...

I think we should watch things develop and try to keep an open mind on it. The US, led by Donald Trump rid the world of a terrorist puppet master, laid down some very serious threats and now we have to see what the long term effect will be. Based on what has been reported Trump may have actually had an effect on just what actions Iran will be conducting. Trump seems to play to the biggest fears, reinforcing what consequences can be and then he will talk if that is a choice. He met the Mullah's crazy with his own threats but the difference is he can actually back his up. It looks to me as if they may not be quite as crazy as they have wanted us to believe. We'll see.

I just honestly hope Trump doesn't mock the Iranians. I think if he can keep it simple and short and let the people know that he will work with the international community and congress (take that off of Pelosi's table single handily) for what should happen next would be an absolute mind blowing victory for him. He has a brilliant opportunity here.

But doing so, provides Trump the ultimate out in not reacting to Iran's retaliation. Now the international community will have to get involved and determine what happens with Iran.

By the way I am also extremely saddened that innocent lives were lost during this event.

We could take out their entire military, and then just leave the people to decide what type of government they want without forcing any type of regime change. That's probably not a solid strategy, but Iran knows we could. That should be deterrence enough.

If not, just keep taking out the top strategic general in charge of the QUD's "Revolution Militia", one at a time. Far lower body count.

Sigh. We can hope. Not mocking "losers" is not Trump's forte. I expect he'll be "Presidential" in his announcement. It's when he starts answering media questions, and at his campaign rallies, that he starts to get bombastic.

Regardless, this is a win for America and for the world.

This could, very well, end up being the best version for everyone concerned for now:) But here is the actual video showing Iran's missiles being launched and hitting the Al Asad air base in Iraq. I don't think you can call it a miss! (The video is not yet posted on youtube or at least I didn't see it there and the videos western media show as being released by Iran are actual amateur videos and not the video by Iran's revolutionary guards).

The depths of the depravity of CNN and the ridiculousness of it's claim that Iran intentionally missed. CNN is propagandizing for Iranians now? Ask why. And the idea that "universally accepted and absolutely beyond question" seems to be grossly misguided on your part, but it seems, entirely now par for the course with you.

Of course they intentionally missed, the Iranians are not that ignorant to see what happens to a country when they decide to engage the USA in a War. There will just be miles and miles of Rubble, so they should consider themselves lucky they still have their infrastructure. Pretty sure the Quessam Salami, the Iranian Government and American Democrats just assured Donald Trumps re-election.

CNN "News" versus word from the Pentagon. I'll take the Pentagon, though is appears that CNN may have grudgingly gotten a story correct. :)

Either they aimed to miss, or they just have some really inferior weaponry. Pick your poison.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/01/08/iran-launches-missile-attack-us-bases-iraq-latest-news/

"Iran 'aimed to miss' when it fired 22 missiles at US forces in Iraq on Wednesday night, officials in the Pentagon have claimed, as it emerged there were no casualties in the rocket barrage.

According to Bloomberg, a US official said that no Americans were killed in the strike, leading the Pentagon to believe that the Iranian regime was "aiming to miss."

However, experts said the type of missile Iran used was notoriously unreliable, and that the regime may well have missed targets by accident."

Yes eventually the USA and Vietnam came to terms. FYI, the Chinese were helping Vietnam during the conflict, yet certainly at the time, they were long time bitter enemies.

That is a classic example of why we have diplomatic attaches and avoiding conflict is the ideal goal.

The anarchy would be very good. A man stronger than Saddam would emerge to rule the region with an iron fist and massive capital punishment, keep the people in line, and that would be great.

Watching the borderline treasonous reporting of this event on the MSM has been a scary prospect. The TDS is so strong with certain Dem leaders and a lot of “people” in the MSM theyre literally taking the side of the terrorists over our own. Frightening really. The NYT graced us with another wonderful headline for a wonderful human being who passed away. A leader. An icon. Looked up to by so many. Good crap:)

Sadly, there is no other way to manage those people. They’re still stuck in the dark ages.

Doesn't Iran supposedly have missiles superior to American Tomahawks?

So was that a direct hit on the soybean field they were targeting?
