    With Salami alive: 100% chance of another attack. With Salami dead: 1 preannounced ineffective attack.

    Seems like the reality is that things moved in a safer direction. Who cares what people think will happen if their predictions turn out to be false?

    then why did Trump pass on the option in the past, this was not the 1st time in the last 3 years his location was known - Trump probably 'asked him for a favor' and he refused

    that said, republicans in congress said this was not the reason the white house gave to congress

    we all agree he was a bad man, I hope we all agree and hope we don't have another 10+ year war over it

    They announced in their own media that hundreds of Americans were killed. Meanwhile they told us before hand, "accidentally" missed hitting anything important, and quickly announced they were done.

    This was their big retribution for killing one of the two most powerful people in the country.

    Iran didn't get away with anything...

    And they had so much guts that they accidentally shot down a passenger jet. Accidentally miss us, accidentally got themselves.

    They had to stage a propaganda response without doing anything to provoke a massive aerial response. Especially since they have such outdated Surface to Air missile systems that can't tell the difference between a passenger airliner and a war plane.

    The left: Iran is so advanced they can locate, hack, and pilot our drones to land safely.

    Iran: Hold my turban while I "accidentally" miss an entire stationary military base repeatedly, and then shoot down a moving passenger aircraft first try.

    Salami was clearly the guy in charge of the country, and Old Pappy slap happy was relieved we took Salami out of the picture so that it could be run by the Supreme Ayatollah again.

    It would be funny right? If only so many lives hadn't been lost.... I mean, how absurd can things get? Staging an attack, and then accidentally blowing up a passenger plane....

    At least the left seems to be coming around to the fact that maybe, just maybe, Soleimani was a bad hombre after all. I see they're backing down from what a noble and scholarly victim he was.....

    How would I know why Trump didn't kill him earlier? I presume it was for the same reason(s) why the Israelis didn't kill him after they got the green light from the White House at least 2 years ago.

    I assume you're correct, but knowing his location isn't enough. As was the case with the hit on bin Laden in Pakistan, any number of conditions have to be met in order to conduct a strike.

    Probably not.

    I don't care. Soleimani had American blood on his hands and he should have been killed years ago, and he probably would have been killed years ago if Traitor in Chief Obama hadn't tipped off his masters in Tehran.

    Don't pretend that there is a consensus concerning Soleimani.

    As for the prospect of war, Trump has exercised great restraint and I truly hope Tehran's aggression ends here, but unfortunately there's no predicting what the warmongers in Tehran will do.

    It should not have to be explained how invading the air space of another nation ( Pakistan) without there knowledge to attack a compound near a military base of a nuclear power ( again Pakistan) might have had blowback..
