I gotta say, this is odd. Not only do we constantly hear how everyone on the planet hates Trump, but the MSM actually reported on him being cheered. I gotta assume the 70,000 people in attendance are all racists, bigots, homophobes, etc, etc

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nc...GdQE6_UwTs0IKLX8OclHT-rM03EcE4z9asJi_i8d6UzJQ

The president and first lady walked onto the field shortly before the game for the singing of the National Anthem. Fans from both teams cheered him loudly. Some greeted him with cheers of "USA, USA." Others chanted, "Four more years."

:flagus: Go America, Go Trump, MAGA, KAG :flagus:

Meanwhile Kaepernick was probably at home in a rage pissing on the American flag.

That's exactly what would be expected when MSM has no control over the narrative.

Is it really odd though? Have you considered the possibility that your impression is wrong, that the media isn't specifically misrepresenting attitudes towards Trump but that it's simply true that he often receives negative or mixed responses, in addition to some positive ones like this?

The chant, "USA USA USA USA," was the give away that the press couldn't ignore.

Trump was in Trump Country sitting next to Steve Scalise.

    Louisiana is Trump Country.

Trump Won it 58% to 38% in 2016.

I wonder how much the crowd would've "cheered" if the game was in California?

And in true trumpian fashion, he had to stop and make the moment about HIM despite the fact that he was marching out with the colors. The moment could not have been more ironic.

Cheering and booing presidents at baseball and football games is a great American pastime. Best one I ever saw was one opening season when George W. Bush walked up to the pitchers mound and threw a strike. Lots of gasps and holy craps on that one. Obama threw one on opening day that almost beaned the first baseman. Lotsa boos. Great fun!

PS. If you're ever stood on a major league pitcher's mound and looked to the batter's box you know that's a helluva long way.

Imagine that "helluva long way" with Babe Ruth in the Batter's Box.

Trump is LOVED in the Heartland. And that is why he will win again in 2020.

He should've warmed up like Bush did with Derek Jeter.

The media, or as Trump refers to them, "the enemy of the people," nice coming from a President, report Trump's lies and fabrications, it is there job, so because of this the right has this portrait of the media as biased and hating Trump

Are individual journalist overtly partisan, yes, but as a whole, the media is not, Trump knows the martyr complex plays well on the right so he pimps it to his advantage

Yeah, Loisiana and South Carolina is Trump country, suprised Lindsey wasn't sitting on the other side of Trump waiting to fetch him something

If I had to wager it, other than the Army Navy game the last three years, you could count on one hand the number of times Trump ever attended a college football game, least with Obama you knew he loved sports, and Bush somewhat the same, attending such an event for both was genuine, but with Trump, all part of the charade. If he does Daytona the hypocrisy will be sickening

The only time he attends a sporting event is if both teams are from States where he won.

Did you see the video of Melania forcibly removing her hand while Trump tried to hold it?

Not that I have any sympathy for her, but same girl. Same.

Are you honestly saying that the MSM covers Trump fairly, or ever reports on anything positive he does?

Um, if an adult middle aged male can't throw a baseball 60 feet..... Do I expect an 85 mph slider right down the middle? No. But a child can get it within 10 feet of the plate. Obama couldn't

Not necessarily, I'm just saying that if you assume they never report anything positive and have to dismiss actual examples of positive reporting as "odd", shouldn't you at least consider the possibility that your assumption isn't entirely accurate?

You're right. Multiple studies have shown that only 90-93% of the coverage is unfavorable. I guess this is one of the 7 of the last 100 stories that aren't completely biased and negative.
