I cannot imagine where the NY Times gets the balls to tell its readers who the best candidate for President is, but they have just endorsed both Klobuchar and Warren. What makes the NY Times' opinion on anything better than yours, mine, or your plumber's?
Although his were the lowest number of endorsements in American history, were you equally incensed that Trump received endorsements from 20 daily newspapers and six weekly newspapers in 2016?
Don't be cynical. I voted 3rd party and will probably do so again this November. Anyway, no, I wasn't incensed. I was indifferent.
I like both Klobuchar and Warren. I would vote for both of them in the general election. But I'm already going to vote for Andrew Yang in the primary. As for the New York Times opinion, and why it matters, is that they are a news organization that should be following the candidates as part of their job. It's not like most working adults have the time to keep up with a campaign, and the sanity of the candidates.
What does that have to do with their ability to assess politicians? It just means that a panel of other journalists think they are good journalists. From a statement from the 2010 Pulitzer Prize winner for commentary, Kathleen Parker: "It's only because I'm a conservative basher that I'm now recognized."
Klobuchar is fine with me. (Warren is not fine with me. She's as phony as they come.) I am just asking why people swoon over the opinions of journalists.
Half of my City Council (who are "supposed to be" non-partisan...wink, wink, nod, nod) came out with an endorsement last week for Elizabeth Warren. The Mayor is a Buttigieg man. Most of the media seem to have already decided that Warren is the "blessed" choice for the party.
Not cynical. Just curious why you are questioning the practice in this case when it has been common for decades.
They are the paper of record especially for the left and punted. Actually had the gall to start byvsaying Warren is a great story teller. ROFL yes we know the stories she tells but why would that make her a better President? And then said they represent two very different paths. Well which one do you endorse NYT?
Mitt Romney is dumb. When the Boston Globe endorsed Jon Huntsman someone asked him about it and he flubbed the answer. The correct answer was obvious. They're going to endorse Obama in the general election and they want him to face the weakest opponent available.
who cares... it'll be interesting to see super tuesday without super delegates. anywho, just hoping the senate doesn't weasel up & remove trump from office... what with all that popcorn & beer i stocked up for the debates
