Fraud is already on the books, and bestiality is not one of the prescribed penalties.

For shits and giggles I downloaded visual studio for Linux. It's actually visual studio code which is not an IDE but a decent code editor. It looks suspiciously like my ATOM code editor which is also cross platform and highly customizable. I'll give it a chance, got a little project working now but I doubt I'll be keeping it as just the thought of having a microsoft product on my computer gives me the willies.

Well it depends on which visual studio version. I have never tried the Linux version, but even the vs community version is very good. For Linux I stick to eclipse.

    Know little about this.
I wonder if any manufacturer of ag stuff could build low-tech equipment.
Keep it simple but reliable. Obviously this wouldn't work otherwise people
    would be manufacturing it. No?
I guess the modern farmer wants his auto-steering, GPS and air conditioned
luxury. Leaving these off a tractor might lead to people not buying it. Put
these luxuries on and farmers complain.

There is no Visual Studio for Linux, only the editor and I'm sure as hell not installing Windows so I can use the IDE. I like owning my computer and never being told that I can't shut off my computer because windows is updating. I like installing printers by just plugging them in. I like not hunting for all the privacy intrusions that come built in to windows. I like being in control of repairs and knowing a reinstall only takes a few minutes if worse comes to worse.
So many people say "But Linux is hard." When I teach people who've never used a computer I show them both, invariably they opt to use Linux when given the choice because it is easier. Some complain they've never used Linux. "Do you have an Android Phone?" I ask. Yes. "Then you've used Linux." OK, if you're a gamer you're stuck with windows. That's changing.

    So it's not just me.
I installed Windows 10 in a moment of weakness and my Raspberry Pi Hole went crazy blocking the constant attempts for the program to call home. When it had installed I simply didn't like it with all the spy and bloatware, so I uninstalled it. It was harder to get rid of than a urine soaked mattress and I ended up wiping my hard drive and installing Linux Mint instead.

In the previous post, I read you downloaded visual studio for Linux. I just assumed there was a version I wasn't aware of it.

Windows does have the advantage of having more robust desktop tools, although Linux is catching up. Just a natural progression of the technologies, nothing unexpected.

I did write a native Android app, never went anywhere, but the whole paradigm of native Android is far different than other languages on Linux using tools such as eclipse.

If you prefer Linux, by all means.

I bet it did. For those unfamiliar, raspberry pi are computers the size of a deck of cards that cost $50. Raspberry Pi Hole is software you can put on one connected to your home network that traps unwanted ads or such on the entire network. They're good for many other jobs too like a home entertainment server. I use two at work, one has the payroll program on it and the other runs our VOIP phones.

It isn't that they are manufacturing it purposefully so you have to go through the manufacturer for repairs and maintenance instead of being able to do it yourself.

It’s then very essence of fraud, selling something under false pretenses.

I am in Australia. From time to time this appears in our media.
I thought the issue was resolved? It's happening now with cars
isn't it? Imagine servicing a Tesla for instance - the auto steer.

Well you're welcome to take one of these manufacturers to court on that but I don't think you're going to get anywhere.

As far as I know Tesla's are impossible to service or near impossible to service Tesla is in a car manufacturing company it's a tech company so they don't have shops they don't know how to fix cars.

What language are you using? I use VS code for all my javascript and python work. Visual studio for .net and Eclipse (shudder) for java (gag).

If you don't want your kid falling off the tractor they can pull a small manure spreader with the Isuzu Pup if the weather hasn't been too wet. And they get to do the mucking out in the barn and shovel load the spreader. Builds character. But it's a limited market for those trucks.:)
