For those interested in watching arguably the single best 100 seconds from Day One, I suggest watching the following: https://twitter.com/mmpadellan/status/1219807852698722304

For those interested in reviewing the biggest takeaway from Day Two, I suggest reading the following:
Cable News Pundits Fawn Over Adam Schiff’s ‘Amazing’ Impeachment Speech: ‘Very Powerful and Forceful’

For those Interested in reviewing some of the biggest takeaways from Day Three, I humbly offer my take here: http://politicalforum.com/index.php...in-senate-day-3.567196/page-6#post-1071368071

For those interested in some of the big takeaways from Schiff's closing, I suggest reading the following: http://www.politicalforum.com/index...continues-in-senate-day-4.567230/page-8#post-

For those interested in some of the big takeaways from the first day of Trump's legal team presentation, I suggest reading the following: https://thehill.com/homenews/senate...eam-offers-brisk-opening-defense-of-president

There was massive news to take place between the Saturday Presentation and Today's continuation. The manuscript from John Bolton's upcoming book has been leaked and in the book, Bolton alleges that Trump told him in August that he wanted to continue the freeze on the military aid until Ukraine was willing to announce the investigation into the Bidens. This directly undercuts months of claims from the White House as well as arguments made by the Trump legal team, who would (in theory) have known about these allegations for weeks. This exerts tremendous new pressure on the GOP Senators to vote and allow witnesses to testify.

This is a thread for those watching the Sixth Day Day of the Impeachment Trial of Trump before the Senate. This will include the second day for the Trump Defense team to continue their 24 hours of argument. This day should include presentations from Kenneth Starr and Alan Dershowitz, but I will be most interested in learning how (or if) the team will address the Bolton revelation. If you are commenting, please provide enough information for those who are unable to watch to make their own decision regarding your opinion or to at least find the segment in the video for themselves.

You can watch the Live Link here from the PBS:

The Republicans are holding their Press Conference right now and the Senator from Indiana just said that he does believe the report from John Bolton will shift the calculus on voting for witnesses.

    That’s where I’ve been since Day 1.

There’s obviously a Biden scandal. Getting answers about that seems reasonable.

Compared to FDR locking up Americans in internment camps and LBJ sending 57,000 Americans to their deaths in a war that he knew could not be won, Trump’s troubles are very, very small potatoes. they’re even smaller than Obama’s troubles.

    This is insanity.

I hear Nadler is not going to be there today because his wife is dealing with issues regarding a recent pancreatic cancer diagnosis... UGH

I hope I speak for all of when I wish Mrs. Jerry well going forward, but that's one tough cancer.

OTOH, anybody not having to sit through today's crapfest isn't having a bad day...

    We are now underway.

The day got off a lighthearted moment when McConnell wished Justice Roberts a happy birthday.

He responded by saying, "Thanks and thank you for not asking for the 'yays and nays'". LOL

Sekulow appears to have supplanted Cippilone as the lead counsel. He is the first to speak today and he is the one who is the one providing the outline for today.

'yay' for a Happy Birthday to Roberts!

I gotta say, Sekulow at 63 years old (!!) has great hair... if any of that is fake, it's good work...

Sekulow finished speaking without addressing the Bolton revelation and, within 15 minutes, introduced Kenneth Starr.

It appears that the Trump impeachment team might stick with a time schedule that concludes their defense by the end of the day.

    This comes the CNN reporting:

Trump’s five defenses at this point (updated):

    1) Bolton’s words are just “he said-he said” from a guy who is writing a book and has a grudge against Trump.

    2) The impeachment investigation was botched by the House and it is not the duty of the Senate to correct those lapses. In fact, it would be unconstitutional for the Senate to go beyond what the Constitution says it should do.

    3) Even if everything the House managers say is true (a big if), this issue does not rise to the level of removing a president from office.

    4) This is a partisan impeachment, something our founders both feared and abhorred. It’s also something we’ve never done before in 200+ years.

    5) This is the first impeachment not to be based on a crime.

Well, a week in now... Have you figured out yet that there's no evidence to remove President Trump from office?

Every previous Impeachment Senate Trial has included testimony from witnesses that did not testify before the House.

    Evidence?:roflol:

Trump could commit a Capital Felony on Live TV and not be removed by the GOP Senate.

"Evidence" matters little to the Partisan GOP Senate.
