Trump "convicted" himself by his own words and deeds. That his obstructionist moves and pig squealing about the whistleblower just adds fuel to the fire means nothing to the deaf, dumb and blind GOP and conservative sycophants. Linsey Graham defies his own recorded words to kiss Trump behind. Pitiful.

Wrong. The eye witnesses corroborated the whistle blower, and even Trump uber - donator Sondland and Hill. Nothing was "cooked up", just reported on. That Trump runs a blockade on witnesses and documents is very telling.

You're not making sense, as YOU and the millions of other citizens in this country comprise a nation and society. Now if you're complaint is against how candidates or party is trying to govern with their own interpretation of capitalism or socialism as a guide....and whether that can lead to fascism or communism....that we can discuss.

The obvious was stated, as usual the self-inflected blind missed it. So let’s try again—I’m a fool for fools. No one, not the state, not society, not my neighbors, and not God, not one single person has a right to one micro-second of my life, nor one penny of my money. My life is mine to life, not society’s to control, not the government’s to rule, and not God’s to command.

Obviously the country has changed from the “land of the free” to the “home of the Shmoos”

    Shmoos? Willingly subservient slaves.

The nation is governed under one moral premise, altruism—the sacrifice of self for the good of all, it makes no difference who the “all” is—the state, the tribe, the nation, humanity, the common good, the brotherhood of man, and on, and on, and on.

Furthermore, no one is fighting for capitalism, individualism, or reason—it’s gang warfare to see who can acquire the greatest power in order to rob and enslave the rest.

    None except: https://aynrand.org/
Ayn Rand writes, and I agree:

    Capitalism:
”Capitalism is a social system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property rights, in which all property is privately owned.

The recognition of individual rights entails the banishment of physical force from human relationships: basically, rights can be violated only by means of force. In a capitalist society, no man or group may initiate the use of physical force against others. The only function of the government, in such a society, is the task of protecting man’s rights, i.e., the task of protecting him from physical force; the government acts as the agent of man’s right of self-defense, and may use force only in retaliation and only against those who initiate its use; thus the government is the means of placing the retaliatory use of force under objective control.—http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/capitalism.html

    Individualism:
“Ayn Rand: “Individualism regards man—every man—as an independent, sovereign entity who possesses an inalienable right to his own life, a right derived from his nature as a rational being. Individualism holds that a civilized society, or any form of association, cooperation or peaceful coexistence among men, can be achieved only on the basis of the recognition of individual rights—and that a group, as such, has no rights other than the individual rights of its members.”—http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/individualism.html

    Reason
“Reason is man’s only means of grasping reality and of acquiring knowledge—and, therefore, the rejection of reason means that men should act regardless of and/or in contradiction to the facts of reality.”http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/reason.html

    ...what?

OK, let me try it this way. Let us say that you own one of ten farms and all ten rely on the same singular pond for your supply of water. You, along with all of your neighbors, pollute a small amount every day to the pond. How would you handle keeping the pond clean?

Ignore it and truck in my own water or build my own reservoir--I don't like community property; its a sucker's game, a pointless mind game.

    Besides:
Ayn Rand: "...human good does not require human sacrifices and cannot be achieved by the sacrifice of anyone to anyone. It holds that the rational interests of men do not clash—that there is no conflict of interests among men who do not desire the unearned, who do not make sacrifices nor accept them, who deal with one another as traders, giving value for value."--http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/selfishness.html

In other words, if I have to deal with my neighbors, it would be only under the principle of a common self-interest, and not upon a compromise of values.

Okay, let's just fan away the smoke rising from that load and clear the air:

You live in and benefit from a society...you are part of a society....that's how you were guaranteed: decent medical care during your birth, a public education, buying of produce and products with reasonable assuredness that they won't poison you or malfunction upon first use, a police force to severely limit crimes against you, decent roads, etc., etc. This comes from taxes....so if you are an island unto yourself, then do not partake in any of the things society has to offer, as OTHER citizens are paying for it. Also, you don't get to do whatever the hell you want, as neither can your neighbors, as that would be chaos. You want that, go live in current Somalia.

Your "land of the free" came about by imperialism, colonialism, near genocide, slavery and theft. Just ask the descendants of the people who were here for over a 1000 years before your recent ancestors showed up. Just ask the descendents of the African slaves who were the unpaid backbone of this country 100 years before it became the U.S.A. If this is what you stand for or deny, then so much more to pity.

So the OP stands, and my previous statement/invite to you stands.

Sounds to me that she is smarter then Schiff and Nadler. They went on record stating that additional witnesses should not be called for the Impeachment Trial. Now, the whole world knows that they are hypocrites. McSally is smart enough to not answer the question in case Biden gets elected, and the GOP decides to Impeach him for his quid pro quo in Ukraine.

Just to note: I do not agree that witness that had not previously testified before a Grand Jury or the Impeachment Hearing should be called during the Impeachment Trial. I also do not believe that anyone should be impeached for something that happened before they were elected President.

Character assassination is not a refutation of ideas or principles; it’s a confession you can’t.

And where did Ayn Rand state that taking Social Security was a sin? She argued the opposite, recover your stolen property to best of your ability.

And well it may be true that Libertarianism is a fantasy, Objectivism is not, it’s reality, nothing less, nothing more.

Clinton and Obama made exactly the same argument when it came to subpoening senior administration figures.

    They were not.

Not sure if they were or not....I do know making the argument wasn't Obstruction of Congress, nor impeachable....nor do I recall Adam Shifty and his cabal having anything to say about it.

Probably because they did not assert the non-existent privilege in response to every single request related to an investigation into the President's conduct.

Neither has the current President...just one....the priviledge does exist and is regularly raised by Govt and Govt officials. prosecutors use it all the time, law enforcement does as well.....it has also been asserted by every Presidential Admin over the last 50 years.here's an interesting Bloomberg op-ed on it....it's conclusion speaks for itself...https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/a...ty-is-and-why-trump-says-his-advisers-have-it

    "
The only judicial opinion discussing the absolute immunity issue came in 2008, after the House Judiciary Committee subpoenaed White House counsel Harriet Miers to testify about the firing of nine U.S. attorneys. The district court in Washington, D.C., held that Miers was not absolutely immune from subpoena. That holding is a further reason to doubt that absolute immunity is constitutionally justified.

There are two catches, however. First, the court specifically said that one reason Miers wasn’t immune was that the case didn’t “involve the sensitive topics of national security or foreign affairs.” That logic presumably wouldn’t apply to former national security advisers like Kupperman and Bolton being subpoenaed to discuss foreign policy decisions."

    ......

"It might not slow down the impeachment inquiry that much, though, because Congress won’t have to rely on Kupperman and Bolten’s testimony: Trump’s call with the president of Ukraine speaks for itself."

As the reader can see, when clearly challenged with reality and the facts of reality, Ayn Rand sychophants that call themselves libertarians just parrot one liners that don't stand up to scrutiny. Starjet has no credibility.

Lying about facts that you cannot refute or disprove is NOT an answer. The FACTS in the link I provided don't assassinate Rand's character … she did that all her own in interviews and her writings...exposing her quasi-facists/Nazi leanings. And for your edification, Ms. Rand wrote, "
Since the things man needs for survival have to be produced, and nature does not guarantee the success of any human endeavor, there is not and cannot be any such thing as a guaranteed economic security. The employer who gives you a job, has no guarantee that his business will remain in existence, that his customers will continue to buy his products.

If you surrender everything to the government and give it total power to plan the whole economy, this will not guarantee your economic security, but it will guarantee the descent of the entire nation to a level of miserable poverty--as the practical results of every totalitarian economy have demonstrated.

Morally, the promise of an impossible "right" to economic security is an infamous attempt to abrogate the concept of rights. It can and does mean only one thing: a promise to enslave the men who produce, for the benefit of those who don't. There can be no such thing as the right to enslave, i.e., the right to destroy rights.

There is no room for social security or medicare or any social service in this convoluted clap trap. Rand's partaking in the very institutions she allegedly was against made her a major BS artist and hypocrite. She had most of her financial records destroyed at her death, but she couldn't erase the paper trail or shut up the people who worked closely with and for her.

Objectively, she was a just a little Nazi minded git who didn't think her mental flatulence stank. And like her, you just blow similar smoke when properly challenged.
