This may be one of the most inspirational and motivational topics that we can come to understand during our physical lives.

The Afterlife is not merely two places.... one extremely bad and one extremely good..... it is far more similar to the school system with twelve or thirteen levels in elementary and high school and then many levels at the university level as well.

I find this idea of many levels to the afterlife rather encouraging and far better than the over simplification that tends to happen here on earth.

This is an interesting thread but probably not for the reasons you intend. Anyone that thinks they know is likely fooling themselves and thus barely even born.....a couple years from kindergarten.

I have to admit that I was kind of scared to put myself in the Grade four to six level....... but I had to take into consideration where the other seven point nine, nine, nine billion were.....???!!!

    Good question!

I've been studying the paranormal and near death experience accounts since 1990 and I am certain that this life merely prepares us for the next level..... but it will not be a vacation of playing a harp........

Merely by defining "The Other" you make clear what your "Opinion" is and that defines where you likely sit on your little scale Dennis...think hard on that and evaluate the result. It is extremely important to know and accept what we do not know in my opinion.

I have to admit that I strongly suspect that whoever answered "pre-primary level" in the poll is in for a visitation from heaven and an outpouring of blessings that will astonish them!

    @DennisTate

The testimonies you posted sound exactly like the "astral planes" which are similar to, but a subtler form of, the earth/material world. One could view the astral as the dreamworld which one enters upon sleep...and the first world one encounters upon physical death.

It's a realm of infinite "levels" (dimensions) in which one works out all earthly/material attachments (including unresolved desires) which tend to hold us back from re-integration with the full potential of infinite Oneness. Thus the astral is a construct of the collective & the individual's mind. The energy of the collective fuels the astral, while the individual shapes their own personal reality from it.

The astral experiences are what gave rise to the belief in heaven, hell & purgatory...as astral experiences can be both heavenly & hellish (and everything in between). The astral remains a convincing, yet essentially fake (temporary), reality. It is thus not the true spiritual "home" (origin) of the "soul" (the soul being the true Self...or individuated perceptual vehicle/aspect of infinite Oneness).

The small but densely packed book "The Astral World" by Swami Panchadasi (a pseudonym) explains how it works in wonderful detail. The author, an astral explorer/expert, explains the astral as the place where one "burns off" one's desires. He guides the reader through its various (and very fascinating) levels. There is even a level that Panchadasi describes as one which modern scientists would be thrilled to enter in their studies. In it the explorer can visually see & experience all the invisible energy fields, waves, radiations, emanations, emissions, etc. that we live in a sea of everyday. You can read the book for free online.

The following is an interesting NDE testimony that mentions past-lives, a "hellish" & "heavenly" experience, and how a past-life can impinge upon the current life (eg, as physical ailments, abilities, interests, etc.), and be exploited to resolve current issues (because all life-times exist simultaneously, not linearly).

What do you mean by "live their life to the fullest"? Does the belief in an after-life really have any bearing on what one accomplishes or does in their life? I haven't noticed that at all. Your position is illogical.

What do you do? Why do you waste your precious short life in this forum? Do you waste your life watching TV or movies? Do you risk your health by eating junk food? Are you always actively trying to live your life to the fullest? Are you always exploring your fullest potential? If not, then why not?

And why did you waste all that time in school? Do you take or have you taken college courses? Why? What's the point in educating yourself or of even trying to "live your life to its fullest"? What will or can you ever get from it? You want to leave a legacy? Why? You won't be around to enjoy that legacy. You want to take care of your family? Why? You won't be around or aware of what's happening to your family after you're gone. Besides, they'll die too one day...and earth will one day be gone too...so what's the point? You can't take any of your accomplishments with you if there's no after-life. So why waste your time learning, doing, accomplishing, developing, exploring...or even living?

My sister, an atheist, got a college degree and worked long hard hours to become a manager of a large corporation. Many scientists are atheists...having spent big chunks of their short lives in school & research. But why? Why waste one's short life in school or in a job if there's no after-life. Why learn anything if you can't take any of that experience with you? Why work? Why do anything? Why even live?

If anything, it would be the atheist who would choose NOT to live their life to its fullest...because there's simply no point in doing so.

many people hope for an afterlife (a better life) because they lead miserable lives now & not because they believe in re-incarnation...

So what if they do or don't?

Your original point was that if they believe in an afterlife then they won't live their life to its fullest...which is completely absurd.

    This video is exceptionally good!

I already posted it to one of the groups that I have going on near death experience accounts. Thank you immensely for this. It is wonderful when somebody from another nation verifies so many common themes in near death experience accounts here in North America.

Strangely enough......... from my thirty years of researching near death experience accounts.... I would say that this earth is in the middle of The Battle of the Great Day of the LORD Almighty so.......... this is Valhalla...... right here....... right now!

Love / Light / Truth is stomping over Hate / Pride / Lust / Greed and Ego!

Dannion Brinkley was shown that souls who volunteer to come into this rough level of space and time are viewed as heroes and pioneers from the point of view of the Heavenly higher invisible dimensions.

You and I have far more power and ability to positively affect the future of this earth than we tend to imagine.

That would make sense. Part of my disconnect from more 'conventional' (floabt) Christians is my less-than-ecstatic response to the idea of what Heaven/bliss is. It sounds boring...

I wonder what is to happen to those of us who Believe in Christ and hope for others to attain the Peace they seek in an eternity basking in God's Peace and Joy, but fear a life void of the thrill of overcoming the danger and hardship inherent to worldly existence.

Heaven sounds to me like a vacation to the beach, soaking up rays and fruity beverages for all eternity. I can take about a day of that before I need to find adventure...

Even the "outer darkness" of heaven........ is so much better than life on this earth that we will be astonished.

Author Rick Joyner does what I consider a brilliant job of explaining this after being shown about this in a visionary dream that he had back in 1995. If you like C. S. Lewis I think that you will like this but I would skip down to about the middle of this page to start.......

My guess is that you and I and all eight billion humans have an "over soul".... (for lack of a better word for it) ...... and if we see it we would be in a state of shock and awe!

Our over soul seems to have actually existed essentially since the beginning.... before the invention of space and time even.

I am quite argumentative but I cannot for the life of me refute anything that near death experiencer Christian Andreason writes in his book that he has posted for us to read free of charge:

Read Michael Newton's books (eg, Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls). A former atheist, all of Newton's material is based on thousands of hypo-regressive sessions with clients who reveal what we actually DO between life-times. On the "other side" we don't sit on a cloud watching bumblebees fly by & sing songs in praise to God. Rather, we do real work of a creative nature...as in learning to manipulate energies & creating life-forms.

We start out learning to manipulate energies to form basic atoms/molecules...then minerals...to simple & then more complex life-forms...to planets...to stars...to galaxies...to entire universes. It's been many years since I read his books, but if I recall correctly, when we progress to stars and beyond we don't create them alone, but as a group of advanced souls that have reached that same level.

Indeed, we experience the very realities we create. We are the Dreamer and the Dream!

BTW...Dr. Brian Weiss has also written books detailing the worlds we exist in between life-times...but I've not yet read his material. Both authors can also be found on youtube sharing their knowledge (note: Michael Newton is deceased).

Makes perfect sense, as not every individual is vibrating at the same “spiritual frequency.” Those with higher frequencies will obviously be in “higher” places.
