And most are insane, all of them are crazy.

    1. $34 Trillion Socialized Health Insurance Overhaul

Sanders would ban private insurance and implement single-payer government health care. Under his Medicare for All proposal, “federal spending on health care would still increase by 10 percent of G.D.P., or more than triple what the government spends on the military,” according to The New York Times.

    2. Mass Bailout of Student Loan Debt

The senator would bail out student loan debt for “45 million Americans,” totaling “about 1.6 trillion,” according to his campaign website.

    3. Making Higher Education ‘Tuition Free’

As with many of his policy proposals, Sanders’ oversimplified justification for providing free college is: Countries in Europe offer it for free, why can’t the United States? Unlike in Europe, however, tuition is precisely what made the United States the top country in which to study, and the reason students from all over the world flock to the United States for education.

Additionally, the costs of state-run universities in Europe have not ballooned to pay for the ever-expanded services American universities now must offer to remain competitive (luxurious gyms with lazy rivers, behemoth athletic departments, and gourmet dining halls). In 2016, Sanders’ opponent Hillary Clinton knocked his free tuition plan because it relied on state governors, including Republican governors who often cut spending, to put in state money.

    4. Implementing ‘National Rent Control’

Sanders’ campaign has pledged to spend $2.5 trillion to build 10 million government housing units. He also wants the federal government to further invade every state’s housing laws and local economy by enforcing a national “rent control standard.” He proposes using the federal government to wage war against gentrification and zoning laws.

    5. Instituting a Moratorium on Deportations

Sanders’ immigration plan includes ending deportations of illegal immigrants and offering citizenship to the 11 million illegal immigrants already living in the United States.

    6. Effectively Abolishing ICE and CBP

Sanders wants to eliminate the federal agencies, Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as Customs and Border Protection, that protect our country’s sovereign borders and protect U.S. citizens from illegal immigrants who commit acts of violence and organized crime all over the United States.

Mainly the fundamental transformation of America into a global socialist police state run by oligarchs out of Europe. All Democrats running are just different flavors of the global socialist agenda.

So he wants to move away from the oligarchy both parties gave us as most folks are too stupid to even notice as msm ignores it and are a part of it.

I prefer some democratic socialism over fascism.

Bernie will never get the nod. It would destroy the democrat party. The democrats will take it away from him before they let him become the nominee.

NOBODY anywhere in the world offers medical coverage for FREE,they never have and they never will.Nor education or any other amenity.
Everything is paid for by the citizens of the country and their ability to pay,the wealthy because they have more pay more, scaled down to the poorest who cannot afford to pay anything and may in fact need financial support. An example might be a disabled veteran??

    I wouldn't worry too much.

Bernie only has about a 1 in 10 chance of getting the nom.

We will end up with either Bloomberg or Biden.

Bernie would be a disaster for down-ballot races.

Functionally Biden is done. Too many leftist journalists are now 'discovering' his chronic foot-in-mouth problems even if they continue to pretend that he's not obviously senile with it to boot. I will laugh if Bloomberg succeeds in openly purchasing the political loyalty and backing of the DNC while our leftists continue to pretend that their political organization is . . . ethical.

Here are a few tastes of what was in store for Sanders, straight out of the Republican playbook: He thinks rape is A-OK. In 1972, when he was 31, Sanders wrote a fictitious essay in which he described a woman enjoying being raped by three men. Yes, there is an explanation for it—a long, complicated one, just like the one that would make clear why the Clinton emails story was nonsense. And we all know how well that worked out.

Then there's the fact that Sanders was on unemployment until his mid-30s, and that he stole electricity from a neighbor after failing to pay his bills, and that he co-sponsored a bill to ship Vermont's nuclear waste to a poor Hispanic community in Texas, where it could be dumped. You can just see the words "environmental racist" on Republican billboards. And if you can't, I already did. They were in the Republican opposition research book as a proposal on how to frame the nuclear waste issue. Also on the list: Sanders violated campaign finance laws, criticized Clinton for supporting the 1994 crime bill that he voted for, and he voted against the Amber Alert system. His pitch for universal health care would have been used against him too, since it was tried in his home state of Vermont and collapsed due to excessive costs. Worst of all, the Republicans also had video of Sanders at a 1985 rally thrown by the leftist Sandinista government in Nicaragua where half a million people chanted, "Here, there, everywhere/the Yankee will die,'' while President Daniel Ortega condemned "state terrorism" by America. Sanders said, on camera, supporting the Sandinistas was "patriotic."

I can wait for the votes to be counted.

Still, there are only 3 Realistic Possibilities for the Dem. Nom.

Biden, Bloomberg, or Somebody not in the race at a Brokered Convention.

Bernie won't happen, because it would cost the Dems the House by flipping back 2018 Swing Districts.

Right now we are paying $3.6 Trillion for health care and it is nowhere near the best in the world. So we are already paying more than the $32 trillion projected for ten years of Medicare for all. And assuming we do nothing the cost annually with todays annual increases will rise to $6 Trillion within 5 years. There is an online article right now by the Los Angeles Times showing that we will be better off financially with Medicare for all.

The kind evidenced by Princeton using two decades of congressional record revealing that only special interests get represented by congress while the people get none . This is not how a republic works . An oligarchy which is fascism works this way .

If it walks looks and quacks like a duck ...

So if only the few are represented while the people are not there isnt a republic in operation. If only special interests are represented in principle this is fascism or oligarchy .2 decades of congressional record along with other things has proven it. That is how you tell what kind of system we have .

The proof is in the pudding.

    And yet,

US spends twice as much on health care as its peers

    https://edition.cnn.com/2019/01/08/politics/health-care-spending/index.html

Americans spend more than twice as much on health care per person as their peers in developed nations, according to a new analysis from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
It's not because people in the US use more medical services. Instead, it's because drugs cost more, doctors and nurses are paid better, hospital administration is more expensive and many medical services have higher price tags, the study found.

Despite paying higher prices, Americans actually have less access to doctors, nurses and hospital beds. There are only 2.6 practicing doctors per 1,000 people in the US, compared to a median of 3.2 active physicians in the OECD, for instance.

Well, given the sheer size of the parasitic financial derivatives casino, (the mob the caused the GFC), they won't even notice Bernie's modest financial transaction tax, to pay for the elimination of the debt.

"....Denmark ranks sixth in the world among best educated students, considerably higher than the US"

The Charter school rort have anything to do with that? In any case private education is the anthesis of non-ideological education. You want knowledge including comparative religions, comparative economic systems, comparative political systems?
Note: Public schools generally don't teach these things either, because the Right would scream about it (imagine the fuss over your kid being taught the history, content, and rise of extremism in of Islam) but that's where non-ideological knowledge should be taught, because public schools don't (or shouldn't) have an ideological barrow to push.

    $2.5 trillion?

Peanuts, when compared with the size of the parasitic financial casino mentioned above, on which Bernie's financial transaction tax will be levied

In a population of 325 million, already contributing to the economy?

Is there something fishy about that word "effectively"...

I do know Bernie is quite aware the government must control the southern border, because (as he has stated) "there are millions of refugees, and violence and poverty in the world...we cannot help them all".

[Of course the Right cannot conceive of an international rules based system including a WTO instituted to enable prosperous development in all nations.....the doctrine of "absolute national sovereignty" is part of the problem....]

Lumping a bunch of small countries together does not address matters of scope and scale, nor did your article break down the countries individually, which should raise some flags to sensible people. All the rest of your global commie tripe ignores the US Constitution. Why should Americans take this seriously? It goes against everything this nation was built upon...
