The vast majority of people at the DOJ are career officials who werent appointed by anyone. They were the ones who decided not to prosecute, not Barr. If Barr would have overruled them it would become a political scandal, regardless if McCabe deserves prison time.

So no, "Trump's" DOJ didnt clear him, the DOJ career officials did. The same type of career officials that royally messed up (possibly deliberately) the FISA applications

I never mentioned anything about Obama. It's a clear fact that McCabe lied, that's why they, we can now say TOYED with the idea of indicting the guy. If you or I lied, we would be indicted and tried.

It's one thing to say he would be found not guilty, but we didn't even get that. So no, we had hoped there would be equal justice to the law but there really isn't equal justice.

If you wear a badge, you can lie with impunity, even to a court. But if you're a normal citizen, you're out of luck.

 

He won. Much like Johnson, it was all political. Clinton later took a plea for his actions that lead to the impeachment. That won’t happen with trump because there is nothing to plea to. No crimes. Fully exonerated

McCabe's lawyer, Michael Bromwich, downplayed the recommendation. “We were advised of the referral within the past few weeks," he said. "Although we believe the referral is unjustified, the standard for an IG referral is very low."

We are confident that, unless there is inappropriate pressure from high levels of the administration, the U.S. attorney’s office will conclude that it should decline to prosecute.”

Bromwich has said in the past that McCabe had full authority to authorize the release of information to the reporter, never misled investigators, and corrected the record about his answers.

The inspector general's report concluded that McCabe authorized two FBI officials to tell a reporter from The Wall Street Journal that, contrary to what the reporter claimed to have heard, the FBI was not trying to delay an investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
