He’s not wrong. It’s likely to die as temps rise. The CDC uses alarmism to secure funding.

What makes you think we're any different than S. Korea, Italy, or China? It's in every continent now, except Antarctica, of course.

    S. Korea made the mistake of not immediately banning China travel, as Trump did. There's a movement to impeach the S. Korean president because of it.

Nah. Trump needs to take this very seriously and his usual bullshit, bluff, bluster and bravado will mean jackshit.

He is taking it as seriously as he needs to currently.

He should not over react and cause more of a panic, that only makes things worse.

3% death rate after hitting a surprised weak medical system in China. Let's not throw this in the Black Death category just yet.

The most damage this will do is the fear it causes, and that is best controlled thru calm reasonable leadeship. Rational internet presence would be very impactful , but that is not going to happen with the weak knee timid that populate it. And the media wants clicks and views, they will overhype it to death like they always do.

Italy. South Korea......and if it gets a grip in India.....watch out.

And unless something dramatic happens, the Tokyo Olympics is in jeopardy.

I take the middle ground on this one. Remember Swine Flu? Even in Australia, my brother got it.

COVID-19 will spread, just as it has to Northern Italy. People will die. Very few people aged 18-40 will. It will disproportionately affect young, old and already sick people.

Think of it as flu plus.

    Yep.

400 cases in Italy, 12 dead. From the BBC 1 hour ago.

3% death rate just like China.

I posted earlier that if the US is infected at the same rate as China and has the same death rate based on population we will have 20,000 cases and 700 dead in the US. 1/10th of our normal daily death rate from all causes. Hardly bodies filling the streets as some are putting out there.

The harm from fear will be more destructive than the virus.

My advice is to stay safe, do research if you have time, but don't panic. This is not the end of the world, it is the beginning of a global crackdown on disease control.

That has benefits and drawbacks, and though I lean more in the drawbacks direction, it won't be too bad. This isn't some FEMA camps conspiracy.

Also Katrina....the Dems ran NOLA...they screwed that up.

And people living there...get out...it's a hurricane, you stay you take your chances. You should not have to be told by the govt that hurricanes kick ass and take names. I live on the coast of Tejas, it not rocket science. Personal responsibility....it's a thing.

He never denied that there isn't reason for concern. This is what he said, exactly:

“Well I don’t think it’s inevitable,” Trump said when asked by Fox News reporter Kristin Fisher about the CDC’s warning the virus will definitely spread. “It probably will. It possibly will. It could be at a very small level or it could be at a larger level.”

Exactly what else do you think Trump needs to do that he isn't doing, specifically.

We are going shopping this weekend. That's what we call a "grocery list". It's the norm up here. We usually go shopping when we are down to a month's worth of food. One never knows when they are going to get snowed in.

Trump is a stable genius who knows more about everything than anyone. If Dr. Bone Spurs says it's so...believe it!

You have to give it to Trump......he does not suffer from indecision. A man of conviction, a very tall bottle of water, he is. Orange Man good, you know.
