Perhaps the greatest background fear that Democrats may have at this point is that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg decides she has had ENOUGH of being kept on 'life-support' so that she can continue to be their ancient "Dog-in-the-Manger" (Aesop) for the radical Left.

Plus, deep down in her sense of ethics and propriety, she's probably profoundly offended at Schumer's gut-bucket, low-life threats against ANYBODY in the Judiciary of the United States. She may detest Trump, but how can she stand being in the same camp as a THING like Chuck Schumer...?

Wouldn't it just shock the hell out of these manipulative, America-hating, Democrat slimebags if old Ruthie simply said, "You can stop dreading the morning where I don't wake up anymore -- because I'M ANNOUNCING MY RETIREMENT THIS AFTERNOON!"

[IMG]."You crossed a line, Schumer... and I won't stand on your side of it any longer!"

Translation: Demonstrable fact that has been obvious since the Obama administration and the Democrat's ethnic cleansing slate became an open campaign.

And you criticize him for these stupid quotes you claim but I never see you trying to mitigate it with a Democrats quote as you do when it is a Democrat who engages in such a blatant attack as here with those on both the left and right condenming it.

Do you really think your desperate and failed attempt to find some equivalency mitigates what Schumer said?

Not quite. Nothing is "closed" until this radical, foaming-at-the-mouth Democrat is held ACCOUNTABLE for his actions! My personal preference would be that he suddenly has a new "woke" moment in which he realizes what a complete disgrace he is (and what a disgrace he is to the entire Democrat Party, which adores him), but I would settle for his resignation from the Senate, and silence for the rest of his rotten, America-hating life....

Question: what would the reaction of radical Democrats be if, say, Senator Mitch McConnell were to say to Sotomayor and Kagan THE VERY SAME THINGS THAT SCHUMER SAID TO GORSUCH AND KAVANAUGH?! They'd be raving and screeching for McConnell to be eviscerated, drawn, quartered, and burned to ashes! Surely there exists no more horrible pack of hypocrites than today's hyperliberal, radical Democrats!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Cy, but Schumer already had that "woke moment" and effectively explained that he "misspoke" and clarified his intentions.

Granted had he not done so your demands that he be removed would be justified.

What if McConnell had issued the very same threats to Justices Kagan and Sotomayor, Te...? The Left would be HOWLING for Mitch's head! Why do we have such different standards for hyperliberal Democrats than we do for Conservatives? As I said in my 'signature line', Obama broke the law (the LAW) no less than three times, and nobody did anything. And Trump gets impeached, but no mention of a broken law appeared in either of the Articles of Impeachment! Do you see that rampant hypocrisy?

Why does Schumer just get to walk away from this like NOTHING happened? It stinks to high heaven, and nobody does anything about it.

I voted no across the board, heck we are supposed to be living in a free society which includes having likes and dislike of political opinions and the Supreme Court is no different. I know that many of the high "Justices" deem themselves to be above the Frey of criticism but they are not. No one is beyond reproach, for instance, I disagree with the decision of Roe V. Wade being used as a tool for murder of the innocent and others view the decision as a liberating moment for women. Also, there are several SCOTUS decisions that I view as opening the chaotic "Pandora box" and I roundly criticize those opinions of the High Court. After all, that is all the High Court offers is opinions, NOT LAWS!

Substance should not be awarded to this type of fiasco to prevent politicizing the judiciary, quite acceptable for the legislative or the executive but never on the justice body, what would it be like when politicians would have greater influence on this third supposed independent body? I could imagine more bias judgment and more partisan verdicts.

If McConnell had explained what he meant afterwards I would give him the same pass, Cy!

Denying that your criminal IMPOTUS has egregiously broken the Law of the Land is disingenuous. There were at least 5 crimes in the AOI even if the statutes themselves were not specifically cited.

Yes, impeachment is a POLITICAL act and the criminal IMPOTUS did DESERVE to be impeached.

If there is any "rampant hypocrisy" it is turning a blind eye to the extreme right's POLITICALLY MOTIVATED impeachment of Clinton for lying about a consensual blowjob.

If the standard for impeachment is LYING then the criminal IMPOTUS deserved it 16,000+ time MORE than Clinton.

I generally agree with you here....BUT (you knew that was coming right? Hehe) this wasn't a simple disagreement with a decision made. This was a threat on two specific Justices on a case which has not been ruled on yet. Further this wasn't just a threat by some Senator from Podunk middle of nowhere State that no one had barely even heard of...but by a high ranking member of Congress. Someone who has enough political clout to actually carry out any threat he wanted. Or at least come damn close to it.

Between all of that this shouldn't be treated lightly or as if it's just a disagreement. He should at the least be censured over it. Roundly. I would hope that everyone, no matter thier political loyalty, would vote for a censure. I don't believe he should be removed, but definately censored.

Sadly this will just be played along party lines. :(

If you would give McConnell a 'pass' for making vehement threats against Kagan and Sotomayor on the steps of the Supreme Court building, Te, then you are one of the very, very, VERY few liberals I can think of who would be so, uh, magnanimous....

Your rather consistent lack of any magnanimity toward Trump (as an example) bespeaks a temperament that would be very oddly miscast were you to be suddenly so gracious as to forgive McConnell for the hypothetical outrage I've used as a contrast to the threats that Schumer made.... But, if you say you'd forgive McConnell for doing this, you're a nicer man than me -- because I'd be insisting that McConnell undergo scrutiny to discover if any of the threats he made were CRIMES -- just as I want Schumer to be investigated now for what he has actually DONE! What Schumer did was at the gut-bucket level of what criminals and thugs in Third-world banana-republics do routinely -- NOT the United States of America....

I won't sugar-coat it... I loathe and despise Schumer more than I'm allowed to say in this Forum. Indeed, just yesterday, I was penalized yesterday in this Forum for suggesting what I'd LIKE to see done to Schumer, if I had my 'way'. But, enough said. Put simply, I hate everything imaginable about a creature like Chuck Schumer, and if he's broken a law, I want him to RESIGN, and pay the price, in a court of law, for spewing his vehement hatred for Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh in the form of very real, very ominous threats!

As far as the Articles of Impeachment against Trump go -- well, Te, all I can only add to what we both already know, that if Democrat 'Crusaders' Schiff, Nadler, and their toadies, staffs, and stooges had done their work professionally, they would have AT LEAST taken the time to make very certain that their charges against Trump were founded on breaking actual LAWS, because in the minds of most people who populate American juries, any person -- even Donald Trump -- is innocent until proven to have BROKEN A LAW!

First off you are mischaracterizing what I actually said about McConnell. ONLY if he recanted and EXPLAINED what he intended would I give him the same pass because that is what Schumer has done.

Your criminal IMPOTUS had the opportunity in BOTH the House and the Senate to expose all of the CRIMES he committed as being legal for him to do. He never made any attempt to do so and INSTEAD he OBSTRUCTED the investigation into his CRIMES thereby establishing his GUILT beyond any reasonable doubt. The GOP Senate RECOGNIZED his GUILT which is why they conducted their FARCE and VIOLATED their Oath's of Office. That made them ALL equally GUILTY of covering up his CRIMES.

The final point I am going to make is WRT to your vitriolic hatred of Schumer. As Mandela pointed out that is like drinking poison in the hopes that it will kill the person that you hate. You are doing YOURSELF more harm than good by harboring those negative emotions about him. TBH no politician on either side of the aisle is worth doing that kind of harm to yourself. I consider the criminal IMPOTUS to be a contemptible excuse for a human being who belongs behind bars with all of the other felons but I do NOT waste my own emotionally energy on him because he is simply not worth it. Do you hate the dog turd you stepped in while out for a walk? I don't because it would be a waste of my time and energy to do so. Instead I scrape it off my shoe and move on. The criminal IMPOTUS will be gone in less than a year. I am good with that.

You do make several good points, Te, and I acknowledge that even though we will never be able to agree about some things, I suppose.

Trump is not (NOT) 'lily-white', and I cannot tell you how often I've writhed in desperation and despair over things Trump as said and done. Indeed, as I have said, I don't even LIKE him, but I feel that I've been forced into a position of having to support him, if only because those who oppose him (and people like me) so directly are America-hating creatures like Schumer, Schiff, Nadler, etc., et al....

Silly postlude: I swear, if Bernie Sanders is kicked to the curb today by Democrats and he decides to run on an independent THIRD-PARTY TICKET, I'll strongly consider voting for the man! I doubt you believe me, but I haven't been kidding when I've wished so hard that Democrats could find another John F. Kennedy in their ranks to be their candidate. They don't have one, and probably never will again, but at least I LIKE Bernie Sanders, while I can't say that about any of the others at all....

    NO.

Schumer should be no more "forced to resign" than Trump.

His constituents are free to vote him out the next time he runs.

I know this has been promoted in a "slippery" slope fashion with is why I answered in that manner that is suited with the following (showing consistency and all). A verbal "threat" was made by a Representative, so what? All that was said is a statement; Big Deal. Unless the spoken words were followed through with a physical act, there is absolutely nothing that can be done other than a Censure; BIG DEAL. The Constitution of the United States is STILL valid, so there is nothing that can be or should be done. It is all political theatre; an act meant to further divide the nation over something STUPID and PETTY. I seriously do not waste my time on such frivolity.

OK, it's "the day after" now, and sure enough, Bernie's been destroyed. The Democrat big-wigs are in such a hurry to kick Bernie out the back door that this jive-ass House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., has suggested just blowing off the Democrat convention and having everybody start 'worshiping at Biden's shrine' -- even though the delegate count is: Biden -- 846, and Sanders -- 684, with MANY more delegates yet to be determined!

Ha! You've got to admire today's Democrat Party for their 'transparency' -- what a gaggle of totalitarian TYRANTS these wanna-be Socialists and 'woke' schemers are! They hide nothing from the world, and any of us can see clearly what they really ARE -- including Bernie Sanders, who I hope will stay true to his convictions and ethics -- and announce his own THIRD PARTY run for the presidency!

Honestly and candidly, Te... can you imagine a WORSE person to be the Democrat nominee than a corrupt, senile, mindless stooge than Joe Biden...?!

Honestly and candidly, Cy, I am not a fan of Biden because he is just another Dem Establishment shill. As a person he is likable enough for a politician and head and shoulders above the criminal IMPOTUS but that is a very LOW bar to reach.

At this stage Biden is a notch above the criminal IMPOTUS which is why I will hold my nose and vote for him.

I suspect that Bernie intends to hang in there just to mess with the Dem Establishment and to make the point that Biden does NOT represent the Progressives. For all his faults Bernie won't run 3rd party because he is a man of his word and he did take that loyalty oath.

So yes, I would much rather that it was Warren who was on the Dem ticket but that is NOT going to happen.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to hold my nose tight enough to make myself vote for Trump again, but I'm so nauseated with Biden that I probably will have to -- if for no other reason, honestly, than that I don't want to see Iran roll out thermonuclear hydrogen weapons
mounted on ICBM's in the next five years... an almost guaranteed certainty if Biden were to be elected (Obama 2.0 -- as advertised).

I know the futility of Third Parties. Rather than vote for 'Daddy' Bush and RINO so-called "Republicans", I voted for Ross Perot -- TWICE! And, as we all know, all that did was get Bill Clinton elected and re-elected. That said, I think Bernie could easily get more votes than Perot ever did.

All in all, it's a great pity about Democrats like Andrew Yang, and Tulsi Gabbard. With a little more focus on economic REALITIES and who-really-deserves-what, I think each of these candidates could have gained a lot of traction with that mythical but very essential group I call "the Rational Middle-Class".

Most depressing to me, though, is the sad fact that not ONE candidate in either the Republican or Democrat Party calls for a complete top-to-bottom re-writing and overhaul of the U. S. Tax Code. I tell you again, Te, until THAT is done, nothing is going to fundamentally change to be better or fairer in this country....
