I am just going to note that the title of this article is either objectively wrong or they failed to provide any justification for the title. There is certainly no quote in the article where Biden calls Trump racist for saying that the virus started in China.

As an aside, it is also improper to call COVID-19 the Wuhan virus.

Not only is it appropriate to refer to the Wuhan Virus by its geographic origin, it is helpful given the fact that some people in this country need to learn that the United States has to be less reliant on China for the things the American people need.

 

The reason why it is inappropriate to refer to COVID-19 by anything but its official designation is because it leads to both a mistaken assumption that the region should be blamed for the virus and the subsequent reports where Asian-Americans and Asians around the world have noted a spike in discrimination and xenophobic attacks.

 

I don't see a problem in calling it racist, when people keep on sticking to a wrong name despite them knowing better.

They aint called the Vietnam virus or Middle east virus.
It's totally not relevant. 10 to 15% of the common flu is a Corona variation.

People should know that one. It can mutate... anywhere.

As I recall, when Trump instituted a two week quarantine for travelers returning to the states from China in January, Democrats accused him of overreacting and not caring about those in quarantine. Shortly after the quarantine, Trump instituted a travel ban to China. Again Democrats criticized him, saying it was unfair, hurtful to the economy, and xenophobic. But then as Democrats began to realize that the virus really was something that needed to be addressed, they completely reversed course and began to criticize Trump for being inept and not taking the virus seriously. Clearly, they should have directed their criticisms at themselves. At any rate, what I glean from this is that Democrats conduct in this matter is not a concern for the nation, but for disparaging and getting rid of the Trump administration. On the other hand, Trump and his administration are actively and fully involved in protecting the nation.
