Capitalism threatens to throw us back to the Dark Ages

What does the virus have to do with capitalism? Capitalism is Marxist terminology, I prefer the term the free-market system, which isn't an 'ism' but a natural pattern of human behavior which has been around for all of human history in which goods and services are voluntarily exchanged.

 

Dead wrong, two weeks after the WHO was telling us there was nothing to worry about because China said it wasn't contagious (a lie), Trump restricted China travel, over the objections of the WHO and Democrats. Dr. Fauci said that move bought us a lot of time.

Then why was Trump STILL Holding Mass Rallies (less than a month ago) where he was helping SPREAD the Virus?

And then, using those ill-advised rallies to call the Virus a "Hoax"?

Trump FAILED to take it seriously (at the beginning). Facts are FACTS.

 

The left want soup kitchens. Under the obama admin they were proud of having millions more of Americans on food stamps.

Trump instituted travel bans in January. How did he act too slow? When the first person got it in America he was already taking action.

 

Isnt capitalism but the disruptions of it.

Look the problem with capitalism is when the rich structure it to not serve all citizens and only structured to serve the elites .

The problem with Marxism is it only serves their elites who are the politicians.

I will ignore all that nonsense you posted and simply explain that the leadership for the response needs to be at the state level. The situation varies from state to state. National policies can only make matters worse. What the federal government can do is help the states and (despite the fact that I disapprove of it) it is doing that. As an example New York says it needs ventilators. The federal government sent 4000 ventilators today and will send another 4000 ventilators tomorrow. I agree that governor Cuomo is doing a great job with the virus response.

 

Makes sense. And it also makes sense that none of the checks worked.

Communism is extreme. Socialism works well in Scandinavia and Canada.

 

Scandinavia and Canada both have market based economies and are not socialist.

You may be the spokesperson for your "hard left", but Trump's massive federal bail-out will dwarf Obama's. Let's hope it is as effective.

I heard the same crap in the late '80's to early '90's with the Saving and Loans crisis. Then again in 2006 to 2008 with the Mortgage Markets Crash. Every time there is a challenge to the World or US Economy, the Communist claim that this country is going to be pushed back into the dark ages. But then the situation turns around, and in the end it is nothing but a mark on the historical timeline. Most of the time the economy ends up stronger then it was before.

The fact is that the basis of a strong economy is still there. When all this turns the corner, I predict that will be about early June, then the economy will return to normal, and the President will use this incident to hammer the Chinese at the bargaining table to open more Chinese markets. Not to mention, rein in their military ambitions. In the end, the US will have strengthen their position in relation to the rest of the world.
