I don't have a bone to pick with Fauci, but do with perpetually lying MSM. Started to number out the many problems with the article, but nah, just stopped with the "nation's top infectious diseases expert" bald-faced lie. HE IS A BUREAUCRAT, and any tenure as ANY kind of "expert" other than the specifics of his job as a bureaucrat have sailed DECADES ago. This wouldn't change regardless of what he had to say about Trump or the Pandemic one way or the other, wouldn't care. Yet they ALWAYS overreach by fluffing, spinning, etc. trying to lie and fool people. When he spins around and says something they don't like, watch him instantly transform into "Trump surrogate" or "beleaguered, controversial Trump Administration official." from "nation's top infectious diseases expert." WATCH. I'm sure the rest of the article is crammed full of more similar lies and con.

Rest of the article? More manure, based on 2-3 media/RW blogs? And where are the actual quotes of a "drumbeat" of Fauci's REMOVAL? WHERE? OP and the article is useful though to partially explain this OP's posts and level of political awareness. Maybe try going light on the obvious GIGO next time, will do your reasoning capacity good.

Wow, the OP must have hit a nerve. I didn't realize Trump fans liked Dr. Fauci so much. Let's see if they still like him in two weeks, when he'll still recommend social distancing, but the RW and the WH wants everybody to go back to work, to not hamper Trump's reelection success.

The differences in opinion between Fauci and Trump, however, are pretty clear. Fauci thinks that this is just the start of social distancing to get this under control. Trump wants it over with asap.

Unfortunately, this same dynamic plays out between co-workers, friends, even within family. I am personally of the opinion that the social distancing effort is worthless if many people don't abide by the rules. Me working from home is wasted effort if everyone else is out and about partying. I have friends who probably secretly talk behind my back that I am overreacting. On the other hand, I have friends who would want to report people to the authorities who don't have a care in the world if they spread the virus. While these dynamics go somewhat along party lines, it's not always like this. Only 40% of Republicans are worried that someone in their family will get the virus, in contrast to 68% of Democrats. This is, unfortunately, a very emotional issue and may lead to permanent scars in relationships.

Trump never said you wouldn't have to have social distancing in two weeks...

Yes, Trump wants this over ASAP...not sure why you don't....the Doctor wants it over ASAP as well.

And re-election? hahaha this has made it clear Trump will win...his approval rating is sky rocketing, and he has been praised across the aisle on his handling of this...moreover...quid pro Joe is essentially disappeared...and when he does come out of hiding he makes a fool of himself....

Partisans have no impulse control whatsoever. Can't resist getting in jabs wherever they can. Every last one of you should be ashamed of yourselves, including the OP, who completely twisted and distorted the article to make political jabs.

    Blech to all of you.

This claim is simply not true. He has been virtually front and center in literally every daily presser.

    I don't know about that.

Remember when Trump had his perfect call just within a couple of days after Mueller gave his report to congress? Not a very good move for political strategy since it caused the impeachment investigation.

I'm not saying Trump will fire Fauci, but it certainly would be inline with his previous history.

No Trump won't fire Fauci as the head of NIAID. However, he is likely to stop taking his advice on covid-19, and expect Fauci to become less and less of a center at Trump's press conferences.

Indeed it is. Trump's narcissism has so thoroughly divided this nation that it is now coming down to the microscopic level.

This isn't just a pandemic, it is a major change to civilization, and god knows where all this will end up. I don't think we'll ever go back to the way it was. I think 2020 will be a significant year that will be talked about for decades to come.

Fauci will be in his position in two weeks barring some type of incapacitation. Take it to the bank.

I read that article and it seemed to be mostly based on twitter. That's ridiculous.

I like to think I'm up on what the "RW" is thinking and I had no idea that the "LW" was trying to stir up made up nonsense that the "RW" was out to get Fauci.

In the past I've judged you a more serious poster who could intelligently debate issues without spinning out of control into nonsense, but I may have to reconsider my earlier opinion if this tripe is what we can expect.

I appreciate that sentiment, and I try. It is not easy to keep standards, considering the 95% partisan dung that is flung around this forum all the time.

As I have offered to others, I am ready to eat crow, should Fauci still be in press conferences in 2 weeks from now. Let's see....

Here is, btw, a post from another RW forum poster regarding Fauci:

"No, he wouldn't. Fauci is a politically motivated as any democrat, and he fawns over Hillary. That's part of her email trail. You will notice that he is not the one who pushed these malarial drugs. That all came from outside his little political fort. However many people they've saved, he has had virtually nothing to do with it.

    Trump should dump him
    ."

Does that sound like something fed to that poster by the RW media? Sure does to me.

If you look at the number of infections per million, there are five European countries ahead of the US last time I looked. I know you are smart enough to appreciate this fact.

The supporters of the criminal IMPOTUS worship him as their "god-emperor" and now that he has brought a plague down upon the world they are ecstatic because the see it as the "end times". All of their gun obsession fantasies are about to come true in the post Pandemic Dystopia that will be the result of his doing nothing to stop the spread that will end up killing who knows how many Americans.

Just to get one thing clear. I believe Trump is trying to push to hard to stop the measures required to control this virus in order to get the economy going again.

That being said. Trump is dealing with the universal problem of all leaders. They all have advisors and those advisors think their specialty is key to making the world a better place at the expense of other specialties. We have all heard "To a hammer, the world is a nail" or some such words.

The leaders job is to sort through all that and mesh all those specialties into meaningful decisions. No one profession has all the answers. Trump is guilty of the same thing. He is putting his specialty, economics, at the forefront of other specialties.

In spite of the democratic rhetoric and Trump's shortcomings, Trump has done a good job in controlling the virus. I have heard no single democrat advocate anything that would have made it better, except as hindsight.

    Folks, read this:

    https://www.americanthinker.com/blo...a_deepstate_hillary_clintonloving_stooge.html

"OK, fine. So Fauci's a typical, deeply embedded administrative state hack who can be expected to be obsequious to his political bosses like Mrs. Clinton. But there's more to it than that."

The comments from RWingers on that article are downright scary.

This is going to spread in the RW bubble faster than the coronavirus in the US.

What would make Trump's job better is to take this outbreak seriously, and project that to the American people, instead of downplaying it. How can we expect the people to take social distancing seriously when their leader is basically itching to stop it? All for the sake of business and his "reelection success"?

You mean as opposed to Biden who thought Trump was over reacting. I have not heard Trump under playing the social distancing. I believe he is in too much of a hurry to get things back to normal. However, he has not said we should stop all prevention measures and get on with the economy. His rhetoric has been mostly predictions.

I don't like a lot of what Trump says and does. I never have. However, again, show me a democrat who was out in front of this.
