Here for what? Look up the "Great Depression" and see the "fun".

And there is NO guarantee who will be here if we destroy the economy or not.

I hope you are correct and shutting down and destroying people's livelihoods will not harm survivors .

You may feel that way but you don't get to make that decision for others.

My grandparents and parents "lived" through the Great Depression and I bet if they had a choice to stay dead or go through the next Great Depression , they'd choose staying dead.

Where TF did I say you shouldn't do what you want to do? NO where.

But if you think obeying the experts and following guidelines will put the U.S. back to "normal" ever again , you are mistaken.

Just wondering why you think I'm acting....I made statements which you don't agree with...that doesn't mean I'm wrong nor acting.

Now maybe you could try to address the ISSUE and not obsess on me....????? I'm not the topic...

Don't hate me because I'm right....)

The issue is COVID 19. We are in lockdown starting tomorrow at 5pm. We at the beginning phase here and we have more cases every day. They say it is until April 17 but that could change. And I am worried about the economy and IMO it will start hurting in about a month. But I am of the opinion that we fight the virus first and then reboot the economy. The banks need to be flexible and waive some penalties and fees. This is a war and we are all in it together.

    Hello there folks, Read this:
President Donald Trump said Friday he would choose not to wear a coronavirus mask because it would interfere with his ability to meet with foreign presidents, prime ministers and "dictators."

"Somehow sitting in the Oval Office, behind that beautiful Resolute Desk," Trump said, indicating he thought it would be uncomfortable wearing a mask as he met with "presidents, prime ministers, dictators, kings, queens – I don’t know, somehow I don’t see it for myself."

Trump made the remark Friday during a White House news conference in which he announced the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would revise recommendations to advise people to start wearing masks in public to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Can any of you believe what Trump is saying here? If we are to wear masks in public, we should do so! Don't you think? Don't you think it would be the right thing to do to avoid being sick or die from this COVID-19 Pandemic? Some of may die from this tomorrow. Some of us may die from this next week, some of us may die from this next month or maybe two months, or next year if it drags on like this. How will we know if and when this so called peak comes? This isn't fantasy, This is real. It is real and the numbers will go higher tomorrow into next week and the week after that and the week after that and into May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December next year and the year after that and the year after and so on. Trump is leading us into a fantasy and that's it

As for peak, I think they will be able to identify things stabilizing just by a trend with numbers, and then once they start to lessen, we will know that was peak. From what the experts are predicting, it could happen around mid April.

It looks like the bell curve we used to use in quality control. All things in nature seem to follow a bell curve. Like charting the height of trees or people. Then you break it down from there. You start with the largest defect or problem first. When it is no longer the largest problem you work on the next largest problem and so forth. It works pretty well. A guy named Deming started it. Statistical Process Control.

No, I don't think so. He may feel that the President should show courage. Pence said handshakes and meetings were their business and they would continue.

Why are they such small people? A handshake isn't important.

I just heard a NY paramedic who has it say something something very scary. She is getting better but is afraid to go back to work. She has heard it is WORSE THE SECOND TIME YOU GET IT.

Holy sht, I hope that is just a rumor. This would suggest that we don't develop immunity or we lose it almost immediately.

No, don't shake hands. Keep a distance from others. This isn't complicated for anyone else.

He is damned because he's an idiot who will have killed tens of thousands of Americans through stupidity.

Then he would be condemned for not doing his job. And the left would be saying he was a *****. He was ostracized for not taking action soon enough when he was following the advice of the CDC. and the doc. He got called a racist when he said it was a China virus.... for heaven sake.

Rumor, I've heard Dr. Fauci address it, he said once you get it, you're immune from it like most viruses and immune to it for many years.

Looks to be almost dead on.

By Sunday morning we expect to see over 378,000 infections in the US

as Birk said before that moron Acosta interrupted:

"We can talk about why didn't Italy do something or Spain do something or Germany do something, or we can really say right now -- we all can do something," Dr. Birx explained. "We can do the social distancing and all of the pieces that we know is starting to work around the globe in country after country. And then when we get through all of this, we can ask the questions about could we have done some piece of this better as a global community."

"I will remind you that on February 3rd, the head of the WHO said there was no reason to ever do a travel ban," Dr. Birx continued. "It wasn't until January 14th that we knew that there was human-to-human transmission,"

Hence, people were downplaying this from the start. AS OF MARCH 10th, there were 950 positive cases in the USA and 28 deaths. At that time all news outlets were downplaying the virus.

Thus, all political leaders, not just Trump, were not taking this as seriously as we should have mainly because the Chinese Government gave misinformation about how bad this virus truly was.

Help me understand your "afternoon" because you posted that 9:52 EST. Even if you are west coast, that is still almost 7pm?

    No. Full stop.

Trump was criticized for his comments at the time they were made because those comments, at the time they were made, were objectively lies and/or just ****ing moronic. The fact that they look even worse in hindsight is not a good thing.

Also, if you want to blame the lack of a proper response on a willingness by Trump to accept statements from Chinese officials at face value, then that is similarly a ****ing dumb position because you should never take a statement from Chinese officials at face value.

Also, it would have been beneficial to have the CDC expert whose job was to know about Chinese Viral Outbreaks. The Trump administration dismissed her months before the outbreak.

It is BATSHIT INSANE to think that less than 30 days ago, on March 10th, the most that any one State had was less than 200 in New York. As of today, a majority of the States have at least 1000 cases.

That data was probably from the late afternoon. You have to look at when it posted at the source and allow for the lag in time updating. It isn't updating by the minute or even the hour. It updates a few times a day.

We need to use at least Pacific time to include most of the US. Eastern time is no use.

Oh yes, this is the Johns Hopkins site. The ABC site is slower to update.
    https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html

For example, Sunday morning we will get the data for Saturday night. It won't update all night long.

Oh interesting. Yea, that does make sense. Of course there is a delay between when those numbers will get reported by the hospitals/states/private companies and that delay will get exacerbated by the getting funneled through John Hopkins or WorldofMeters.
