I'm old and in my memory, which is still intact, I can never remember a flu season in my lifetime where stores, businesses, airlines and cruise ships were shut down nearly completely, where any virus resulted in nearly 3 million new unemployment claims in a matter of two weeks, where people were asked to wear masks when out in public places and to sanitize their hands after touching surfaces, where people were instructed to do regular hand washing or that people had to practice social distancing. At no time in the memory of anyone living has a virus this infectious presented itself in modern society. This is not a normal flu. Not by any standards or by any stretch of the imagination and it cannot be adequately addressed and defeated by normal standards of the past.

 

Meanwhile, had the left controlled the WH, house and senate.....you can believe that the WHO would be receiving YUGE increases in US taxpayer funding by now.
Biden, the Clintons and every other high ranking Dem would have assured us it is necessary.

But it's ok....hundreds (if not thousands) of new far left millionaire "Socialist" would have been created.....to lobby against wealth..... for you.

 

So you've been told....so you will believe. meanwhile, in spite of your memory, so far this "pandemic" has been nowhere near as deadly......as the regular seasonal flu. Imagine that.

Except the "predictions" Lil Mike mentioned were based on no action at all -- no testing, no social distancing, nothing. And the "doomsday prediction" is ****ING LOWER than Trump's own prediction for the number of deaths had we done nothing. Trump says we would have had ~2 million deaths.

 

Yet no one, not you, not the OP, has pointed to anything they've actually gotten significantly wrong. The false claims of the OP have already been revealed for all to see.

It takes about ten seconds on this forum to know that isn't going to happen.

 

It goes airborne. There is no fantasy world where hand washing is more effective than social distancing in addition to these measures. None.

 

I"m not surprised the predictions are lowered since they've lowered several times over the past week. We won't know the true numbers till it's all over with, but for now, please continue to do what you're doing so that we can get through the peak and begin the planning of opening things back up. We need to get this country back to work but not just yet.

WHO's estimates are based on "Ifs." Taiwan changed the "ifs" through widespread testing and strong measures. Measures we should have emulated.
