It really should not be any surprise that CNN would do something like this.

Elon Musk tries to do something nice and Gavins office either lies or misrepresents the truth about the donations, and CNN jumped at the opportunity to run an article without doing an ounce of legwork.

Does anyone else think the excuse of “we are just reporting on what we were told”, is a lackluster excuse when the reporting agency clearly made little to no effort to find the truth? These networks put more work into fact checking Trumps tweet where he memes putting a medal on a dog than they did for this. It would have been so easy to investigate this as a journalist and find the truth to see if there was validity to these claims.

This right on the heels of one of their employees Chris Cuomo allegedly getting caught out of quarantine and seemingly confirming it himself. We deserve better.

 

CNN always gets their lies from the same place, the fictitious “unnamed source”.

They use the fictitious unnamed source to print lies.

 

They dont even try anymore it would seem.

Anyone still watching CNN is choosing to be misinformed.

Thats like asking 'should the serial killer have tried to save his victim?' It doesnt make any sense.

CNN makes money selling fake news as real news. That is their business model. Thats all there is to it.

 

What did CNN (or the Sacramento Bee) publish that wasn't true (or at least reasonable believed to be true at the time)? They quoted the governor directly, both when he initially announced and celebrated the offer from Musk and when he later said nothing had been delivered (at that point). Both articles say they contacted Tesla for comment but didn't get a response.

It seems the core issue here is the rush by both the governor and Musk to promote the idea of this happening. with high level announcements which don't give any clarity of the technical details (hence the confusion about the type of ventilator and who would or could receive them and when). This kind of thing would be much better planned and managed largely behind the scenes, but then nobody gets any political or marketing capital out of that.

The media in general are bad at confirming statements and claims or following up details in the rush to get stories out, but I don't see this example or these publications being notably better or worse than any other.

 

They have no integrity and need to be cleaned out from top to bottom. They are all bottom feeders.

 

Does.james earl jones still allow them to use his voice for the "this is cnn"?

The seeking of truth need integrity, a sense of honor, bravery, an ability to question yourself, it's why it's always hard to find a good journalist, even harder today, when the notions of honor and bravery aren't "trendy" anymore.
