We were a year into the recession then NOT the beginning, the situation as it existed then because they failed to pass any measures to help mitigate the depth and length and the stimulation they passed then failed to do what Obama said it would.

Obama never created nor caused the 2008 Crash - nor did Dem policies enacted 2 years prior to Obama getting to the White House.

Actually the stimulus worked. Look at any graph of growth and employment. Of course you live at on an imaginary planet. October 2009 started seven and a half years of growth that Trump has not ruined yet but he's trying.

It hit 10% and came down for 7 and 1/2 years straight.

 

Yes it was horrible, instead of peaking at 8% as Obama said his stimulus would hold it to and then quickly fall, it shot to 10% and stayed of 8% for the next three years SLLLOOOOOOWWWWWLLLY coming down while at the same time LFPR went over a cliff. So what exactly worked? In the 2001 recession/dot.com bubble/911 Republican policies helped to keep unemployment to 6.5% and then a rapid fall to 52 months of full employment.

The stock market crashed in October 2008. The stimulus worked fine. Was probably too small. Of course the Republicans would pass nothing. and your belief or anyway the belief of many Republicans that Obama had two years of power is wrong. Too bad.
