All it takes is for some nutcase (on either side) to open up and you'll see another push for gun control. They have a legal right to open carry in that state, but is it really necessary in a situation like that where there are a lot of angry people on both sides? It's fine to walk around and show off your weapons but if someone opens up, it's going to be a bloodbath on both sides and is that what we really want?

Plus it sends--IMO--the wrong message to America; the display of the guns is a form of intimidation whether or not we want to admit it; our forefathers recognized that violence is not the best way to resolve issues that arise; therefore they put into place mechanisms that would resolve issues that may come up. That being the judicial system and the election system. If people are unhappy with the governors decision, they can challenge it in a court of law and get a ruling; likewise if they are unhappy with the leadership of the politicians, they can always recall them from office or vote them out of office at election time. Resorting to or giving the appearance of violence is IMO wrong and will only make things worse.
