    Okay still a way's off, but seriously 44 terabits/sec? That's 5.5 terabytes/sec!

    No more wasting time waiting for the porn to download.

    That would fill up a domestic hard drive in a fraction of a second. If it is ever used it would be for communications between two hubs.

    The creators are talking about using this type of technology to 'bootstrap' Australia's exiting National Broadband Network up to higher speeds by installing chip sets equipped with this technology at key junctures throughout the network. The idea being to boost the networks overall performance without having to go the vast expense of physically upgrading the cabling etc itself.
